Re: What music are you listening too?
What a wide and varied selection.
I hadn't listened to portishead for ages so i dug out my cd's and stuck on glory box from a compilation album. In the process rediscovered Beth Orton.
I must put all my albums on my external hard drive at some point.

Re: What music are you listening too?
I almost forgot Marillion too! How could I?
Their new double album is out soon. I still can't grasp Marillion without Fish though.
Also been listening to some of Genesis' live stuff.
Some other stuff I keep close by is Runrig's albums (Scottish band), mustn't forget my Brother-in-law when he played with the Swing Commanders......

Re: What music are you listening too?
All my music is ripped now - as soon as a CD comes into the house no matter whose it is (wife, kids, mine) and then gets reburned and the original goes in the loft. No more scratches.
Trouble is sometimes finding what you want can be fun.

Re: What music are you listening too?
Working my way round and round a pile of CDs I bought (but also listening to the ripped tracks on my device) - not all new stuff though. Top favourite is Vampire Weekend. Also listening to a couple of old classics by David Sylvian, Andy Palacio & the Garifuna Collective, Vieux Farka Toure, Nirvana, Tinariwen, The Cinematic Orchestra, new one from REM, Nine Horses, Paul Vnuk Jnr & Oöphoi, Goldfrapp, Editors, The Brunettes, VoLt, Boards of Canada, Daniel Lanois, Placebo, Blue Nile, Scissor Sisters.
Going to have to spend some more money and get MGMT, the Ting Tings and the Sigur Ros latest. Anyone else spot the use of Sigur Ros in the Doctor Who finale?
As you can see from the above I like a broad spectrum of music, I'll give most genres a try and find something I like. Never found any rap or hip hop that actually persuaded me to part with cash, but the only type of music I really don't like is Country and Western.
Black Sabbath songs played on medieval instruments and sung in Latin by Estonians anyone? I'm not kidding Sabbatum by Rondellus

Re: What music are you listening too?
I'm a big fan or Boards of Canada and, if you like The Editors Cyclist, you will LOVE Interpol who are, I believe, healining one of the nights at T in the Park this weekend. So you should be able to catch them on BBC3.
The Ting Tings is a great album too.

Re: What music are you listening too?
I'm seeing a bit of a heavier rock influence creeping into my playlist this days. I think I enjoy something with a kick when I'm cycling. My list at the moment is:
Symposium, Subways, Rage against the machine, Linkin Park, Lost Prophets, Muse, Kasabian.
When I'm feeling quieter it's:
Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Stereophonics, Queen, Pearl Jam, Manic Street Preachers, Keane, Green Day and the Beastie Boys.

Re: What music are you listening too?
My kind of music Cylclist - Well the Sabbath anyway. I have a large collection of covers mainly by people you really wish hadn't bothered.
Sabbath Tribute singing Abba.
A lounge singer doing Sabbath - his Iron Man just makes you want to die - literally.
But the best has to be Captain Kirk and Dr Spock singing anything.

Re: What music are you listening too?
No mention of the Rolling Stones or David Bowie, shame on all of you!
