Re: Running gOS Linux
Daron- have you tried the full Exchange server address as it appears in Outlook on the PC, rather than the shortened one in WM?
For me, the server address is 'EXVMBX016-5.exch016.msoutlookonline.net' on the PC and 'owa016.msoutlookonline.net' on the WM devices.
Not sure if that's relevant at all- all this nomenclature is beyond me

Re: Running gOS Linux
I finally got it to authorise this morning using the revised OWA URL, but the bad news is that it looks like Evolution is not Exchange 2007 compatible yet.
Validated this on the web with a few searches too
Back to Vista.....

Bummer...
FWIW, wrt to your other issue:
1. Assuming you're using Gnome, you can bring up a shell by clicking on Applications->System Tools->Terminal
2. I had a look into your driver issue, and I don't think it would be a good idea for a novice to attempt (unless you're up to the challenge!). I found this resource that may have the appropriate solution for your problem.
It looks like the steps you were missing were the './configure', 'make', and the 'make install' stages, but, depending on the kernel you're running, you may need to hand hack the source...
You can check your kernel version by typing: uname -a on the command line.
A shame you've not had any joy here - Open Source really is a good thing, but it's Achilles heel is still hardware drivers and Windows compatibility...
Regards,
Andy B.

Re: Running gOS Linux
Just out of interest Daron, how did you get Evolution to authenticate in the end? My Exchange service is still 2003 but I've had no luck getting authentication to work. A couple of times it has come back without an error message but the "Next" button has been disabled.

Re: Running gOS Linux
Yep a pity, I've given up for the moment as I've other fish to fry, but you never know I may return! The lack of Exchange sync stops me dead - if that gets fixed I'll look at the other issues again.
Jim - drop me an email on this and I'll mail you a screenshot of what I put in.

Not ideal, but bear in mind that Exchange servers (usually) support IMAP, so you *could* run Evolution in IMAP mode... Not sure if your server in particular will be configured to support this though...

Re: Running gOS Linux
Yep I could use IMAP but as I was hoping to sync more than just mail, e.g. contacts, calendar etc then it's useless for me.

Re: Running gOS Linux
I'm actually running the Wife's gOS installation through an IMAP connection to the Exchange server at the moment. Her mail archive is huge with about 200 folders so it works well. She doesn't use the Exchange calendar so I'm just working on the contacts at the moment. I'll send that email, cheers Daron.

Re: Running gOS Linux
Well I showed the other half Ubuntu last night and she was less than impressed, so it looks like we'll be sticking with Vista for a good while

Re: Running gOS Linux
Just out of interest why are you moving away from Vista?
