Re: OneCare to be discontinued...!???
I've been meaning to post that all day today but been distracted!
Sad news. I moved all my machines over to Avast last night.

Re: OneCare to be discontinued...!???
I'm going back to Symantec... I may give Avast a try... any others that work
REALLY well and the less expensive (or should I say) the more bang for the
buck, the better...

Re: OneCare to be discontinued...!???
I saw that on PC Pro today as well but no time to post!
I wonder what MS's 'cut down' replacement will be like?

Hasn't let me down yet... Now, that I've said that, it's time to find some wood to knock on...

Re: OneCare to be discontinued...!???
I know it costs money but since I installed the 2009 version of Kaspersky that has been running like a dream accross three machines. 2008 was shocking and caused all sorts of problems but the new version is small, fast, inconspicuous and seems to integrate better with Vista. The biggest PITA with 2008 was;
If I didn't turn the PC on for the few days the Vista Security Centre would detect my anti-virus was out of date when I brought the machine out of sleep and would flash up a message. Kaspersky would immeadiately update itself but there was no way of persuading Vista this had happened other than a reboot - until which I would get pop-ups every 5-10 mins. I don't like rebooting!!!!!
2009 has resolved this and the two now get along famously.
