Re: VGA to HDMI

If your graphics card has a DVI output you'll get a pretty good reproduction over HDMI. VGA to HDMI is not a great idea. You can get VGA to Component which is reasonable, or Scart (RGB).

Re: VGA to HDMI

My cables appeared and i've given it a quick go but all i'm getting is a lot of buzzing and a blurrd black and white extended desktop which is barely visible.

Can anyone quickly confirm which slots the red green and blue jacks plug into?

I've tried them all but want to make sure it's right before i start messing with settings.

Re: VGA to HDMI

If you have red, green and blue phonos you have a Component cable NOT RGB. You need a specific Component input on the monitor/TV that handles Component (you will now as they have Red, Green and Blue sockets!). They are usually also associated with a pair of red and white phonos for audio...

Component won't work on RGB scarts not composite inputs - it has to be Component.
