To Eye-Fi or not to Eye-Fi, THAT is my question...

Well,

I am in a bit of a quandry... Has anyone heard of a SDHC card called Eye-Fi??? I came across one on the web whilst looking for a wireless solution for taking photos... Apparently, you can take a picture and as long as you are near a hotspot, the pics would be transferred to your pc and one of about 20 different websites, including flickr, snapfish, windows live and facebook... I just purchased the 4Gb Anniversary Edition for $99USD and preliminary tests look good... I was just wondering, if someone was aware of a better option or one that performs as well for less money.... Will keep posted as I play... just received card less than 48 hours ago...

Here is a several reviews of the product (although over a year old)... They have added functionality to it, such as Wayport Hotspots and geotagging (both optional add-ons) for annual subscriptions...

This is different Boz. It's not for pocket PC, it's for a regular camera. It looks a sweet idea. I'd be interested to see how you get on mate, it looks really good.

I know that Kodak do one (read more here and here)

I've always been concerned about how much battery life it would use from the camera though.

I also looked at the Eye-fi card - I don't see what additional benefits it adds to a PDA with WiFi and ShoZu included - but it looks great for cameras.
