Re: Doctor Who?
Well it's a sad day....... David Tennant has tonight announced that after the Christmas show and the 4 special episodes next year he will be stepping down as Dr Who.
So for 2010 onwards we'll have a new Doctor. All I can say is that in my opinion no one will be able to fill his shoes.

Re: Doctor Who?
That really is a shame.
I was never a Dr Who fan until he came along. He, to me, typifies what a Time Lord should be - humourous, frivolous, somewhat arrogant but with real melancholy at times with a potential cruel streak.
Shame!
That's some pair of trainers someone is going to have to fill. I cannot genuinely think of anyone suitable at the moment.

Re: Doctor Who?
I've been a rabid fan of Who since the series started back with Hartnell playing the Doctor. I stopped watching in the Baker / Davidson era but returned as an avid fan with the new series. Tennant has certainly been the most explosive in the role and as you say brings back and to life all the aspects that should be within a Time Lord.
He'll me sadly missed and unfortunately it looks like one of my dream story lines will now not come into fruition with him playing the Doctor - that of him in some way travelling back in time and travelling back to Gallifray. Okay we know that the Christmas special wil involve him interracting with an older Doctor persona but it's not the same as seeing him back home even for a while. I could have imagined him bringing such heart wrenching emotion to the role.

Re: Doctor Who?
That's really unfortunate, as you other boys have said he's been my favourite Doctor of all time I think.

Re: Doctor Who?
He was defo the best Dr Who yet, the talk is of James Nesbitt (the happy go lucky Irish actor) taking the part. I hope not he just doesn't seem suited to me!

Re: Doctor Who?
I dunno, he might work. He's of a similar mould to Tennant in some ways.
