A lesson in Economics

Paddy agreed to buy a Donkey from the farmer and paid him €100.

The next day, the farmer was due round to deliver the donkey but he arrived alone

Farmer: I have some bad news for you Paddy. The Donkey is dead

Paddy: Ahh, never mind. I'll just have me money back

Farmer: I can't do that Paddy. I've spent it

Paddy: Ahh, never mind. I'll just have the Donkey then

Farmer: But Paddy. The Donkey is dead. What are you going to do with it?

Paddy: I think I'll raffle it.

A month later, the farmer bumps into Paddy and asks him how it went

Paddy: I sold 500 tickets at €2 a piece. I made nearly €900.

Farmer: But weren't they annoyed when they found out the Donkey was dead?

Paddy: Only the guy who won, so I gave him his €2 back!
