Hmm, itshows at wi-fi setup that "connected", but I don't know may be you are right. Can you tell me more about this "encryption setups"? What is this, for what it's needful? etc. It's out on the road WiFi.

Most people encrypt their wifi signal with a security protocol. The common ones are WEP and WPA. You would usually need a key or a password to access these.

yes, but I connected to internet at my Uniwersity, where WiFi is for students and free, or at the coffeeheaven & book stories, where wifi connection is free and not encrypted. So problem must bee somewere else.

It looks as wavey said an encrypted connection problem, you will need the key or password which is a combination of any numbers and/or letters to unlock and access the connection.

Hi, I got an Omnia a few days ago having had ipaqs and an HTC Touch. Have been loading up some of my 'old' software onto it with varying amounts of success... UKMVC works very well, Paragon Handy Weather is mis-sized. Generally a good performing phone with enough power to handle the kind of programs that I like to use. Will play around with it for the next couple of weeks before deciding finally how well it performs, but so far so good! Anyone know anything about GPS cos I don't and would like to know more about how the omnia deals with it?

You're going to have problems with GPS I'm afraid, depending on which software you go for. TomTom is still the most popular and sadly doesn't work with the Omnia. There are some workarounds using other software like gpsgate to get tomtom working.
Releasing a device with built in GPS that doesn't work with the most popular GPS software is frankly quite poor. Clearly the device isn't ready and still needs some work. |
