Re: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Reviewed
Oh ... so torn.
Currently have (and trying to sell) - 2750, TyTN, N95 8GB + TyTNII (v1615) I'm keeping at least until next device.
The N95 was mainly for keypad and good camera ... but I've recently started leaving at home and suffering a lack of credible camera and touch screen dialer (ugg).
I would like to have a single device but WM cameras have not been up to it. I'd also like a decent radio (N95 is rubbish) ... all this on top of usual WM stuff.
The X1 looked like it might meet the camera and radio bit ... just leaving me with touch screen dialer ... which I'd live with ... but it is so expensive.
I then see the ETEN ... No keyboard ... but TV ... is it usable when out and about ? (the old portable TVs were not). It is much much cheaper .... what to do ?
Is the camera on in it capable of 30fps VGA video ? what are the stills like ?
The X1 clearly is going to have teething problems - 30fps playback has been acknowledged. My concern is will SE ever fix it properly or is it going to be like the P1 etc ... when Sony Ericsson never resolve the catalogue of issues the device had at launch ?
The only downer with the X1 I can see is that crazy lack of a tv out. It has hardware gfx acceleration ... it has 30fps video .... what a thing to miss out. Again ... have a PSP, Archos AV5100 and ipod video ... all with TV out ... but it would be nice if I rushed off somewhere knowing that I had a film or something on the PDA to watch on TV.
Moan ... moan ... moan
Paul.
