Re: Fingertouch Pro Keyboard released by Teksoft

I think it has a lot of good features, but ultimately I tend to come back to the default keyboard.

FT has 5 different layouts selectable easily, and now has a draggable height feature; for me its failing (as with its competitors) is the faffing around if your desired word isn't in its dictionary. FT does seem to omit some words you might expect- for instance "keyboard" and "PC" are not present, and even adding them as custom words doesn't see them given as options next time. Touchpal has similar idiosyncrasies (??!) which I find take more time to correct than simply type without the 'assistance'

I must admit I find the default dictionary limitations a pain.

Re: Fingertouch Pro Keyboard released by Teksoft

on the ameo i ended up using touchpal but that was because i preferred the layout.

For the big screen of the ameo though i found it to work well enough for me to ditch the hardware keyboard.

For the smaller devices though the touch keypad wins for me in portrait and hardware keyboard in landscape

Yes- I still find TouchPal the best of the 3rd party SIPs. I like the ability to 'slide down' the root of a word and select derivatives quickly. It's dictionary is more comprehensive as well, and seem more intelligent at contextualising its results.
