Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

Hello guys!
I am very sorry for the username and my voting for Wi-Not Mobile.

My brother works in the company and I am here to support him!
I don't get any of technology or mobiles but I do love my brother!

Again I am very sorry and I am hoping for your understanding!
If you ban me I will understand...

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

Welcome to 4WM anyway! Maybe you can suggest your brother joins us as well- we always extend a warm welcome to developers, and our forums can be a good way of interacting with users and potential users of applications

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

Hi everybody and congratulations for this high-quality forum!

I see my brother has come here earlier!
I am a developer in Wi-not Inc. and participated in the design and execution of the whole project.

So, now you know who to blame for any system crashes!

If you have any questions even hard-technical I would be more than willing to answer.

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

Hi ptoulis and welcome to 4WinMobile. It's always good to see developers turning up to take the credit/blame (delete as appropriate) for their creations

I haven't had a chance to try this out yet but it certainly looks interesting.

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

I like it. I'd like to see a few more TV channels, but otherwise it's good.

I did find that if I changed channels more than a couple of times though it hung and I had to restart the application to continue.

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

Hi waveydavey,
thank you for your good words.
This is true. We struggled with the memory thing. We run on .NET CF so it's kind of heavy displaying video(or worse running WMP) at the same time.
The same problems may occur in game playing. Some games are too heavy to be loaded and working with a Flash COM at the same time is a real benchmark for your device!!

About the channel list, the great thing is that the list is automatically updated!
As long as new versions of the list are available on the server, the application detects it and downloads only the new channels it found. The list on the device is update on the fly afterwards. It is true we should stress that point much more in our site!
But it is never too late!

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

Is it VGA compatible at all?

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

I am afraid not. VGA is 4x bigger than our prototype screen!. It will work though with small coding effort.

We are on the verge of releasing a desktop version, smth like a 240x320 emulator that runs Wi-Not Mobile on a Windows desktop machine. It is in final Alpha version and we hope to broaden a little our target audience.

What do you think of that idea? Do you think would make any difference?

Re: Wi-not Mobile Beta launched.

I'd not be interested in the PC version, but I think with the HTC Diamond selling so well a VGA version would be useful.
