DivX Mobile player - now available!

Has anyone tried the Mobile Player directly from DivX themselves?

It's been released for Windows Mobile 5.0 or later (and Symbian)

I haven't tried it yet due to time constraints but if anyone feels brave!

I have it installed and use it to play large videos that I have converted using divx on my PC and they play very well and smoothly. I'm still using an old beta as well so functionality is a bit limited - will download and install and get back.

Obv i use the player as I find the Divx conversion app easy to use - all i do is drop the vid/dvd onto the icon and then go to bed and its ready fro me in teh morning. Worth every penny and they update almost monthly and updates are free for life.

I´ve just given it a go on the Kaiser, downloaded from Tony´s link. It works quite well and coped admirably with the two large videos I threw at it. Must try out the converter.

But converted .divx files are huge, isn't it?
Sorry, but I don't know too much about .divx, only .avi...

.divx files can be very large but they are still substantially smaller than the original video. It all depends upon how big the original video is.

I have always found that the conversion can take a DVD and get down to about 250mb in a formaty suitable for a PPC withut losing to much clarity/quality
