Orange planning big investment in UK Network

PC Pro are reporting some interesting things from Orange....

The new plans will see the company rollout 450 new 2G base stations to improve coverage and ramp up investment in its HSDPA network, which will offer speeds of 7.2Mb/sec in 30 UK cities, and 14.4Mb/sec in the five biggest cities in the next 18 months.

Up to 14.4Mb! I think I'll be dumping my slow DSL based broadband if this keeps up!

More details here

Just out of interest, who has the best 3G coverage in the UK, Three?

From experience of Three and TMobile I'd say TMobile can't comment on others though.

Great news about the HSDPA but who can afford to use it? I'm sure Orange users would rather have seen the headline:

"Orange finally overs unlimited data for £7 a month".

.....Dave, wake up Dave......

Re: Orange planning big investment in UK Network

Strangely we've ben testing WM devices at work on T-Mobile and the 3G coverage both at the factory and the testers homes has been diabolical.

Might be the precursor Wavey.

Not enough capacity to cope if they don't!

Well, here's hoping!
