Re: Panoramic Phone Genius

Hopefully we'll have a review of this on 4WM within the next 10 days or so!

As I've been using it for the last 2 weeks I'll be happy to answer any burning questions

Re: Panoramic Phone Genius

Well, I do love the product. Unfortunately my Contacts list went dead... no way to jump to a letter of the alphabet down the page aways.... big problem with my 400 name list!

At one time I could simply tap the desired letter and the list would smoothly accelerate... reach the desired letter section... and then smoothly decelerate. Very impressive. No longer.

I'm using the Verizon VX6800 phone over Win-Mo 6.1.
Yes, I've updated from PG-1.7 to PG-1.8... no change.
Yes, I've tried a full reboot... many times... no change.

Suggestions?

Re: Panoramic Phone Genius

I've not seen that before on any of my versions. Do you have anything else installed that may be interfering with the interface? This may be one for the developer to answer!

BTW, the current version (1.8.1) can be set to go direct to the desired letter, without the 'accelerate/decelerate' graphic which can be a bit slow on long contact lists! In Options, it is now turned off when animation is turned off.

We've actually never seen this issue either on the phone we have on hand. Would you be able to tell me:

1) If you select a letter from the alphabet on the right, does the letter pop up as you go up and down the list, and when you let go does it go to the corresponding letter?
2) What kind of contacts sorting do you currently have (first name, last name, company, etc)?
3) Do you see the letter headings breaking up each section of your contacts? (Eg. A, B, C, etc.)
4) If you have a device with a keyboard, can you type in a name and will the contacts automatically go to that section?

I hope we can help.

Well I think I've figured this one out... I still think it's one for the "Hemipterid Chasers" but it can be fixed... not the way I'd prefer, but it can be fixed. The problem is that I have used an underscore "_" in front of several key Contact items that I wish to keep right at the top of my contacts list. That underscore messes with the scrolling and animation unfortunately. Not just "messes with"... it simply kills it royally.

The problem is that I'd rather not have to drop this sorting method... it has always worked in all the other contact systems I've tried. Outlook has no objections... nor does the Win-Mo version. I'll try it with a number in front of the name instead of the underscore and see how that works... not the way I'd prefer but it has worked in the past.

In response to your questions (above)... if you can't duplicate my problem on your own machines write back and I'll give details for your questions.
Thanks

Re: Panoramic Phone Genius

Update: It now appears that PG Contacts works fine in animation and scroll-mode when using numbers (ex: "1 Last name, First name") or using a dash (ex: "- Last name, First name") but will not work using an underscore (ex: "_Last name, First name"). Outlook and Outlook for Win-Mo both work with all three modes. It's your option to call this a "bug" or not for version 1.8.2.
Thanks

V 1.8.5 is now out

Not sure if your problem can or will be addressed though- maybe its to do with the way the data sorting is coded with PG Contacts?

The new version fixes the Area Codes part of the program for UK use- incoming and outgoing calls now show the correct locality for the area code.
