Hermes TCPMP v0.81 unofficial hybrid best media player with all available codecs.



I thought that everyone should try this TCPMP media player it plays audio files and video files in perfect quality. It works on WM5 or WM6, and the later WM6 roms already contain the video fix patch so that it functions correctly without distortion. This is a specially built hybrid version and contains all the available codecs

( Update 17-12-08 ) Used in conjunction with Pocket Divxencoder available for free(donations would be welcome by the site) to shrink your video files to play in 240x320 mode.

Pocket Divxencoder now has a template generator that enables you to change your screen size to suit your device, especially handy for the latest screened devices such as the Omnia, Xperia and Touch HD, find it

ALL DEVICES:-
This should work with all WM5 and WM6/6.1 QVGA devices but try at your own risk.

Update :- TCPMP v0.81 can now support WMA / WMV / WMV9 files thanks to Black Badger for this update.

This set of files has 3 dlls, copy these into the tcpmp folder and you then have wma/wmv/wmv9 support. This set of files were supplied by a frenchman called geard2003.

If your rom does not contain the patch to fix your video problems you can download that ,please check yourself if your rom contains this patch, thanks go to Sleuth255 over at xda-developers.com.

TCPMP SETTINGS FOR THE HERMES ONLY! :-

Here are the settings to use straight after TCPMP is installed DO NOT ADJUST ANY OTHERS, then soft reset for them to take effect.

In TCPMP options>settings>select page>file associations tick all of them.

In TCPMP options>settings>select page>ATI IMAGEON tick disable os bitmap cashing.

In TCPMP options>video tick ATI IMAGEON


UPDATE FOR WM 6.1 PROBLEM DEVICES:-

If you are having problems running TCPMP v0.81 on your WM 6.1 device then please try this updated and recompiled version that is available no gaurantees though!

Hey Boz does this version of TCPMP do WMA? The v0.81 package I have doesn't.

Hi waveydavey, I am afraid TCPMP v0.81 cannot play WMA files and there is no available codec to do this, I think Pocket Player is the one that does play WMA files.

Thanks so much for packaging this together! I removed my old TCPMP install and then installed this on my Black Shadow install. What video settings should I use? I still see problems (pixelation, screen drop outs) if I select Video -> ATI IMAGEON Decoder... ATI IMAGEON seems to work. What about the "Disable OS Bitmap Caching" and "Keep ATI driver active" settings?
