Re: Newest 6 Button HTC Home plugin+customisation pack cab files for all devices (14-

Thanks for these straightforward instructions and links, but before I proceed with installing this plugin, I'd like to get one thing clarified.

I have the AT&T tilt so I realize I need to install the 6 button HTC home today plugin before I can install and use the customization module. I want to make sure that this plugin/cab file can be uninstalled (by running it again after it's already installed) in the unlikely event that I wish to go back to the original AT&T page and settings.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kelly_s and welcome to 4WM

Yes it can all be safely removed totally from your device by going to start>settings>system>remove programmes. Or you can disable it without removing it totally by going to start>settings>today>items and untick the "HTC Home" box. Hope that helps.

Re: Newest 6 Button HTC Home plugin+customisation pack cab files for all devices (14-

I've had my AT&T tilt for a week now. After downloading and the HTC Home screen and Customization program yesterday I'm having more fun than ever with it.

Thanks a bunch to all the people who put the effort into creating these apps and making it so easy to install.

I have two questions.

1. I plunged right in and downloaded and installed both the HTC Home screen plugin and the customization plugin on the storage card. Now I see that it's better to install the Home screen plugin on the device. Is there a recommended way to take it off the storage card and put it on the device instead? I guess I'm asking if I need to uninstall and reinstall, and if so, how do I do that?

2. I think I have the same issue that davidjade mentioned in post #54 on this topic. When I put in a contact on the favorites it doesn't allow me to select the phone number I want to use. On post #55 he mentions that it's caused by using the 1.5 version of HTC Home. I downloaded v2.0.814.722 from the link in post #55. Again I'm wondering if I need to do an uninstall and reinstall.

Please help. I don't want to mess up my phone now that I've finally started to figure out how to make it work the way I like it.

Hi catcraig and welcome to 4WM

Thanks for the positive comments. If you read the post just before yours it will tell you how to remove the applications, it won't be a problem and you can just install the new versions. Just remove the older versions from your storage card after so that there is no confusion with the newer versions, it will also give a bit more room on your card.

It just stays there and in my today screen setttings tab the box is unchecked.
And one more is there a way to havemy battery status in your beautiful creation with a nice tab ot something?

Thank you!

I'd love to have that answer, too.

Also, is there an uninstall for the entire app - home and the plug in- JIC I had to do a return or warranty exchange?

Thank you,

Deborah

A uninstall and reinstall will work good for you here-->start>settings>system>remove programmes.

A HR will work as well, but is kind of a last resort but always gives you a CLEAN slate to work with if to much stuff is cluttering up your OS. Then you can manually clean out your card.

On my Tytn II you need to uncheck "HTCHomeplug" but keep the "HTC Home" which is the 6 Button app, then soft reset and see if it works. If not there is another app that will sort it for you.

If you check the post before yours it will give you the uninstall answers.

Hope this helps.
