Re: !!! Updated HTC Touch Cube should work on any WM6 device - easy install .cab file

It was a big laggy the first time it opened, then it started running fine. Perhaps it needed to be cached on first open?

My problem is that after installing on my TyTN with Home Plugin 6 button, the contacts button disappeared. I saw in your post that this might happen and to delete the QuickDial Reg entry if that happened. Well I did that and my contact tab is still not showing up.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I got ahead of myself. I deleted the reg entry before the post installation reboot of the cube. Browsed the reg again just to make sure it was gone and there it was again. So I deleted it again, rebooted, and now all is well. My bad!

Re: !!! Updated HTC Touch Cube should work on any WM6 device - easy install .cab file

Evening all,

Again great work on these mods!

I finally got a version of this working (kind of) on my O2 Orbit, however the device now seems really slow and laggy The 'kind of' is on account of the only way I can seem to get the cube onscreen is to first open the cubesettings exe and then exit this, doesn't seem to launch with a swipe as suggested.

Is this due to the age/type of model or should it run smoothly?

I also found I had to install FlashLite to get this thing to launch rather than FTouchFlo not sure if thats correct? Lastly I installed HTC Home 2.1.1.xxxx which also seems to slow things up a little but not as much as having the cube on.

If the device is too old to run this nicely does anyone have any other recommendations? I agree with others here that these devices should be user friendly and allow you to navigate with your fingers deep in to the menus.

Again many thanks for any help/advice or suggestions offered.
Kind Regards
Dan

Re: !!! Updated HTC Touch Cube should work on any WM6 device - easy install .cab file

You shouldn't need to install Flash or FTouchFlo to make this run that could account for the lag, you just need to install the cab file only. It should run as well on your Orbit as any other device so that won't be a problem. The problem would probably be the screen sensitivity, and there is a fix for this. I would uninstall the lot and reinstall the Cube cab file only adjust the screen sensitivity and it should then run ok.

Re: !!! Updated HTC Touch Cube should work on any WM6 device - easy install .cab file

Hi Boz,

Thanks again for the reply

I followed your advice and removed the home/cube/FTouchFlo and some others I was uncertain about.

Now i've installed just the mod from here and yes it works, but your right about the sensitivity as it's really hard to get working. The thing that's thrown me though is the sensitivity in your post you mention 600-700 however mine is set at 6777 any ideas, I whacked it up to 7777 but it seems to have little effect.

Again many thanks in advance.

Kind Regards
Dan

Try it at 600 and use a very light swipe across the screen, it doesn't have to be pressed hard.

Re: !!! Updated HTC Touch Cube should work on any WM6 device - easy install .cab file

Bad news, I set it to 600 using PHM RegEdit and after a soft reset (for other reasons) now the touch screen does not respond at all

I've tried allsorts to get the setting back like using the wheel and buttons to open PHM however once in the app I cannot select the key to edit let alone change the value if i did get in...any ideas

Again, many thanks in advance.

Kind Regards
Dan

Re: !!! Updated HTC Touch Cube should work on any WM6 device - easy install .cab file

There are two options, one is a hard reset to take it back to it's original state, which means you will lose all your apps and info you have on your device unless you use Sprite backup to save it. Or the second option is to follow the thread below from post number eight to adjust the screen pressure settings remotely.

It is strange with your device, the screen may be "slack" due to wear and tear., let us know how you get on.

(Restore failed - hard reset fails too!)HERE
