Question HTC Touch Cube can it be easily uninstalled?

Hi Guys,

First post here, great forum with loads of helpful info, glad I found you!

It's hopefully a quick question

Basically I'm looking at trying the HTC Touch Cube software as mentioned in this forums sticky, however i'm fairly new to mobile devices and the device I bought came with Windows Mobile 5 originally, then the previous owner did an offical update via O2's website to Windows Mobile 6, therefore if I install this and decide I don't like it can it be simply uninstalled without performing a reset?

I ask because I couldn't see it mentioned in the original threads and I couldn't find the info from a forum search (hope that's all ok)? I'm a little worried that I might lose some of the preinstalled applications in the event of a problem?

Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work guys! These devices should be as simple to use as the iPhone if not better due to the additional features of competitor handsets/devices!

Kind Regards
Dan

P.S I did update the details but just in case, I have an O2 Orbit (HTC P3300 I believe) running Windows Mobile 6.0 connecting to my Vista Ultimate 64bit via Windows Mobile Device Centre.

Hi Dan and welcome to 4WM

Good to have you here, to remove the cube go to start>settings>system>remove programmes on your device, soft reset and it should be gone. Just remember a soft reset will not get rid of anything you have already installed only a hard reset does that, hope that helps.

Re: HTC Touch Cube can it be easily uninstalled?

Cool, thanks for the info!

I noticed some of these mods require registry edits, I take it they refer to the registry on the Windows Mobile device? If so any quick links to threads with advice, I'm familar with the Windows Registry on desktop OS's so I'm guessing its a similar process.

Many thanks again
Kind Regards
Dan

Yes they refer to the Windows mobile device registry, the easiest thing to do is to use Resco Explorer as it has a built in registry editor , it is pretty straightforward to use and can be found HERE it comes as a seven day trial so you can try before you buy. I highly recommend it.
