Orange E650/ HTCs710 GPRS

I have an orange E650 that has been unlocked and I have my O2 contract simcard in it. Try as I might, I cannot get it to connect to the net via GPRS. Can anyone help with settings etc. I've been on all the usual websites to no avail.

Cheers

Dave

Hi saudidave, welcome to 4WM... Have you set up a new connection in start/settings/connections? You can find a very comprehensive post with settings details for most operators here in our FAQ section.

Hi Saudidave.

try our FAQ section. http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/sp-...martphone.html or http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/ppc...b-wap-mms.html should do the trick I hope.

Good luck.

Thanks but I have tried all of this good stuff! still no joy. The only thing I am unsure of is the PAP/CHAP thing. I could do with someone on O2 who is running WM6, to list their settings for me.

Re: Orange E650/ HTCs710 GPRS

Hi saudidave, I've used an O2 sim previously, and these are the exact settings I used in the GPRS connection configuration.

O2
Access Point Name: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: mobileweb (Nb: some older SIM’s need a username of O2web)
Password: password
Primary DNS server: 193.113.200.200
Secondary DNS server: 193.113.200.201

With the username and password of O2web/O2web.... Have you removed all the Orange ones, if they still exist it may be trying to use one of those.

Also, and apologies if this is grannies and eggs, is GPRS enabled on your O2 sim, I have had problems with this in the past too, requiring a call to customer service to get the APNs activated on the account.

No problem. Which bit do you not know how to do? The deletion of the current settings or the install of a .cab file (or both)?

Installing a cab file is easy. Click on the link to download it to your PC. Then drag the file onto the storage card of your phone (either with the phone connected using the cable, or just take the Storage Card out and use a card reader). Then, on the phone, open up File Explorer and navigate to where you put the cab file. Tap on the .Cab file and follow the instructions. Once you've done a couple of them, cab files are the easiest way of installing things to your phone.

Deleting the current settings will take a bit longer to describe but let us know if you need help with that.

Dave the shortcut to the cab file doesn't work I think that is what he means!
