Belmar NJ isn't listed that is why you are not getting the correct code, try the next nearest place and try again.

AccuWeather.com - Belmar, NJ - Weather Forecast - Local Weather Forecasts

I have no idea how I'm supposed to format that so it looks like theirs, so any help on that would be awesome. Thanks again!!!

I found that same problem myself playing with it for just a few moments.

Here is something that might work, and I am going to give a try by next week when I get the time again.

-I use the HHC CUSTOM WEATHER setting and enter the city & country.
-I used TOTAL COMMANDER to navigate to HTCHOME folder on device.
-Locate and open HH_409_WeatherCities.
-Now you can COPY your city code from there & should be the way you need it. (if using file explorer, just write it out and type it of course)

This is as far as I have had time for. What I would do next is...
I think there has to be another HH_409_WeatherCities folder that is the DEFAULT file for ALL the preloaded cites that you can normaly pick from.

-FIND that folder! Sorry have not had time to do that yet, but let me know where if you find it.
-Paste or type in the line of CODE you found before in the spot where it should be. a,b,c,d,e,etc... in order.
-Reset
-If you added the new HTC server IP with pocket hosts, I think you should be in business!

Do make a backup copy of the second HH_409_WeatherCities folder just in case you type or paste it in the wrong place or cut off another cities code line by mistake! Just name the copy different so I won't be confused.

Let me know how you get on.

But even if I do a search for New York City, it still shows the address/location in the same way that it shows Belmar...

AccuWeather.com - New York, NY - Weather Forecast - Local Weather Forecasts

How are US Cities supposed to be formatted as a location code?

I HAS to be called HH_409 WetherCities, because that is the source file for all the cities in the list that you see in the pick your City options, that the HTC Home program looks for.

No HH_409_WeatherCities folder, NO city list to pick from, that simple. So for that same reason I had thought of how to get and place your city data info into the right place hopefully so that it will work.

You will just have to search through your Windows folder, or others till you find it, or do a search on here for HTC Weather (or something like that) as there is a REAL detailed thread on the HH_409_WeatherCities list and how to edit it. Unless someone else knows off the top of their head?

Sorry I have not had the time to find it for us yet..

Let me know how you make out or where it is located when you find it!

Hi Bassey. Yep tried the soft reset. Funnily enough, that's when the real brightness issue arose...after the soft reset!

Thanks Boz. That seemed to do the trick! Only slight anomoly was I noticed after the 'successful' uninstall the WM5 taskbar along the top was still in place. So, it would seem the HTC home plugin uses the WM5 version with no means of reinstalling the original WM6 version ater an install. Not really a gripe though just an observation .

However, I still seem to have a brighteness problem but I'm not sure if it's the same as others have reported. After installing the HTC plugin, when the screen is locked, the backlight turns down so low you can barely make out the unlock button! You have to touch the screen from memory it's that dark. Also, the brightness button doesn't seem to do anything. Any ideas??! Thanks again!!
