Re: !!! 6 button HTC Home plugin + BRAND NEW version of customization pack 16/03/08 !

I am running another developer's version of the HTC home screen, but I was quite impressed by the functionality of yours.

But I have a (minor?) problem.

I have an s710 running WM6 (CE OS 5.2.1235 - build 17740.0.2.0)

After install, I receive the message 'May not display properly - file was made for an earlier version of windows mobile'

Settings>Home Screen> Home screen layout does not display the item.

No doubt you've likely already answered a similar concern, but I was unable to find in past posts.

PS. prior to install, I uninstalled the previous version, and did a soft reset, installed, then another soft reset.

Thanks.

Hi aleybourne and welcome to 4WM

I am afraid the problems lie in the operating system of your device and the screen size, I am surprised it run at all to be honest! This was made for 320x240 screens.

I do not like the fact that many people are having problems being able to download the local weather for their devices, so by tomorrow I will test all the methods available that I know of and report back on which work and which don't, things aren't looking good at the moment so it may be a case of having to use a location nearest to you I am afraid.

If anyone else has had success with a given method please let me know, thanks boz.

Re: !!! 6 button HTC Home plugin + BRAND NEW version of customization pack 16/03/08 !

I appreciate your expertise, but need one more clarification, if I may...
My screen is 240x320 in normal 'phone mode', and landscape with the keyboard extended. Perhaps I misunderstand, but I thought most Tytn/ Kaiser and Touch models ran 240x320 or vice versa. Am I missing something? (entirely possible - I usually only know enough to cause damage)

Re: !!! 6 button HTC Home plugin + BRAND NEW version of customization pack 16/03/08 !

Sorry I gave you the wrong answer there, I confused yours with an earlier post! Yes it is 240x320 but the problem lies in the 710's operating system, the 710 is a smartphone and it runs Windows Mobile standard as opposed to Windows mobile Professional for which the 6 Button plugin was built for, hence the problems

Hey Boz,

Finally got round to installing this version (work always gets in the way )but the brightness button still doesn't work. I only installed the cab file in your last post (HTC.Home.v2.1.1005.722.Directory.And.Brightness.F ix.schen.cab); was I meant to install anything else to specifically fix this issue? I wasn't 100% sure from your last comment . Thanks again!

Uninstall all home stuff, install the HTC Home cab, then install the brightness fix cab, then do a soft reset and should work

Thanks El Mariachi. So just to be clear, I know where to get the HTC Home cab (v2.1) but can you clarify which brightness fix I should use as I've seen reference to a number on this thread. (I WILL get this eventually!!! ). Sorry for the repeated hassling guys!
