!!! 6 button HTC Home plugin + BRAND NEW version of customization pack 16/03/08 !!!

There is now a brand new version of the fantastically popular 6 Button HTC Home customisation pack available to be used with any of the HTC Home Today plugins.

What's new in this version:-

- New: Added realtime previews of appearances
- New: Toggle between Home tab preview and Weather icon preview by tapping the preview image
- New: Preview page changes dynamically with appearance/theme selection
- New: Backup and restore functions now saves/loads files, not just settings
- Changed: Made selection tabs slightly smaller to reclaim screen space
- Changed: Themes are stored in folders (like BETA 5 and lower) to accomodate local previews
- Changed: Moved themes to it's own tab
- Changed: Removed old and test code that was unused
- Changed: Donation page in About tab can now be hidden without restarting
- Changed: Enlarged the Launcher tab icons
- Fixed: Non-English device folder naming problem (again)
- Fixed: Deleting appearances not working
- Fixed: Launcher tab now displays all shortcut icons, not just some
- Fixed: Restore button enables properly when you select an existing backup path

This should all run fine on most devices running Windows Mobile 5, 6 or 6.1, It is tried and tested.
The screenshots are from my Orbit 2 and shows the look you can achieve.

Installation guide:-

If you have a previous version of the Home customization pack installed completely remove it from your device first before installing the newer version, it will keep your current today screen though.

Download your choice of HTC Home plugin for WM5, 6 or 6.1 if you have not got it already installed on your device.


If you now have the 6 Button HTC Home today screen plugin installed and working, you can now proceed to download and install the Customization plugin. It is best to install and run this from your storage card as it will hog your devices memory otherwise.

The installation of the Customization cab file will be automatic with full on screen prompts. After installation if you go to programs you will find a black icon with HHC, tap on it to run the programme which will allow you to view, download and change your icons etc to whatever suits you.


If you have any problems with the contacts tab not showing, then you will need to remove the registry entry HKLM/Software/OEM/MASD/Quickdial using Resco Explorer or similar.

Please remember that this application may not work with all devices, and the same applies to the brightness tab.

There is now a cab file fix available for the brightness tab in the launcher it should work as soon as you install it after a soft reset, if not try deleting the backlight link from HTC Home on your device, add the first backlight link and it should be ok.

Also included in the download file below for the backlight fix is a SDK Certs cab which should be installed only by people having problems installing the 6 Button HTC Home plugin onto their devices.

The first 3 are for WM6/WM6.1 devices, the newest version is at the top and the other two are there to try if you have any problems installing the first version.

The fourth is a 5 button version for WM6/6.1 and the last is for WM5 only.

This tweaked HTC Home plugin will be useful only if your telco provider uses proxy for data access - should work through 3G/GPRS/Wap connections.

I found this on XDA-Dev. Idsk initially developed patched version, and later Phouki made cabs for adding the patch without the need to reinstall HTC Home plugin.

For me worked reinstalling HTC Home proxy patch version - tested on my Hermes (SoftBank X01HT), personally was not lucky with adding the patch cab from Phouki, but it works for others.

If using Idsk vesrion, firstly should uninstall previous version of HTC Home and install HTC Home weather proxy patch version. Some connections customization is possible tweaking registry keys:

[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHome\Weather\Settings]
"ProxyType"
0 = auto proxy config (system config*)
1 = direct to net (without proxy, default)
3 = via named proxy

* It is recommended if you use system config proxy, first to start PIE, and then everything should be running well. This is the default parameter.

Using parameter "3" in [HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHome\Weather\Settings] "Proxy" must add IP:PORT (e.g. 10.0.0.100:80)

Please note the following! :-
Just found that installing Idsk version of HTC Home plugin "erase" all info in Device Information (Start>Settings>System). Haven't noticed any impact on device functioning.

There are two other different versions of the 6 Button plugin compared to the previous thread release which are the first and second for WM6/6.1.

I just HAVE to ask... is that also a NEW SUPED up version of O2Plus that you are using Boz or what? I just love the Vista look tabs it gives you. I noticed your O'L TomTom tab was looking beter than last I remembered, along with the rest, so wanted to know what and how that changed.

PS-does that almost BLACK background also somehow come with the customizer as well? Hoping it does, it would sure show off my screen a lot better as well!

Hi gem, the top row of tabs is from the new customiser and the bottom row is a newer version of TomTom I run and other icons from my new Polaris (O2 Orbit 2). So it isn't a souped up version of O2 Plus 2.3 I am afraid. I have attached the .tsk file for the background.

I am going to take the next couple of weeks and get my phone back to the way I like it again, with all the newer and improved version apps like the one here, Black XII. I think I have had it with the playing around with the newer roms, as there seems to be to much speed and buggy issues to deal with compared to the tried and true.

I will definately keep my eye on more stable & faster versions though.

Going to give this HTC Home cab a whirl and PRAY that the brightness shortcut works out of the box on a Hermes! If not I will have to try to find an old one I have lost among all the others LOL.

Thanks for the quick reply, I not use to getiing my answer that fast. I see the place to enter the 3 digit code. However, I don't know what the code is. I want to put on the: neon lights; spinning rims; dvd player and killer sound system on my touch phone, but I can't find where I left the keys...
