Blank Note Template Disappeared

I use notes an awful lot on my Touch Cruise. Messing around earlier I opened Notes, selected Menu, Options, Default Template drop down, To Do. Went to set it back to blank and the option has disappeared. The file appears to be windows\blank.pwi but it is showing size as 0k and when I click it, a cannot open messsage appears. I deleted the contents from one of the other Note templates and tried to save it as blank.pwi but it advised me that blank.pwi was a file in ROM. Any ideas how to get it back?

Do you sync files with your PC? If so, have a look in the PC recycle bin, where the PC copy may be residing. For some reason WMDC loves to delete all the templates from my device when syncing. This has happened to me so often I keep a copy elsewhere on my PC.

I sync Notes at home and at the office. I emptied my home recycle bin earlier (wouldn't you just know it). I'll check tomorrow at work. Thanks for the tip.

Hard reset has solved the problem !!!! Sprite 6.2.1 did a faultless job.

Glad to hear you got it fixed, but a bit of a drastic solution!
I do suggest copying these templates to your PC somewhere so you can reinstate if it happens again with a simple copy.

A drastic solution maybe, but it's good to hear that the backup was restored without any problems.

I'm not sure that you can create a copy on the basis that it's in the ROM. If you try and open windows\blank.pwi it says "Cannot open note. It has been renamed, moved, or deleted."

I did it this way.
The template is in a folder that gets synced to my PC. I have copied and pasted that folder to another location on my PC. When my templates went missing from both device and PC synced folder, I copied the templates from the copy PC folder to the sync folder, and WMDC put them back on the device.

Cyclist, so where exactly is the template. Is it blank.pwi in windows ?

My Documents/Templates/To Do.pwi is the one that I use that goes missing, along with everything else in that folder.
