I'm having a bit of an issue trying to figure out whether or not this version will allow me to specify which phone number for a contact to use on the favorite people tab. I have a WM6 device (Mogul) and I've sucessfully installed this plugin but no matter what I try the people tab entries always calls their mobile number. I can find no place where to specify for each contact which of their numbers to use. From looking at other threads on this forum about this plugin it is my understanding that this version allows this to be possible. There are even screen shots of this in other threads but I just can't figure it out in this version. What's the secret (other than creating duplicate contacts)?

Also is there a place where I could get some info on how people have been hacking this plugin to run on other devices? I'm a capable WM developer so I'd like to know where I could potentially help if needed.

just wondering in the ringtone section .. what exactly is the automatic option ?

Hi davidjade and welcome to 4WM

In answer to your first question, if you tap the green cross on favourite people and then tap on the name of the person you wish to input, it will show a list of the numbers for that person, just choose the one you need.

Why do you need to hack this plugin? It will run on most devices that run WM6 anyway, and if you go to the developers website there is also a version available for WM5.

Hmm. I installed the plugin from the site listed but when I click on the cross (which is not green on my device), I do get to choose a contact from my address book but it does not go further and then ask me which of the contact's numbers I will to use. After I click on a person it just adds that person to the list and returns to the plugin. It also does not show any indication of which number it will use like the screen shots I have seen seem to imply.

Any ideas on why it is behaving differently for me? I really would like to get this working.

It's not necessarily that I want hack the plugin, I'm just curious to where it came from and how people patched it to work on other devices. It's mostly that I was prepared to try and fix issues like the above since they are clearly not working on my device.

I have figured this out and here's a heads-up for everyone else.

The file list as "HTC Home v.2.0.814.722 for WM6 by schen" on this web page PocketEmu Software: Downloads / HTC Home Plugins / HTC Home v.2.0.814.722 for WM6 by schen is NOT the v2.0 plugin. When installed, HHC listed it as v1.5. So this cab file installs a v1.5 plugin which does not have the feature to choose which contact's phone number to use. I have notified the web site owner of this mix-up.

When I finally hunted down the real v2.0 "HTC Home v.2.0.814.722 for WM6 by schen" plugin here: [NEW] Kaiser HTC Home v.2.0.814.722 - xda-developers and installed it, then everything started working as it should.

The First three are from Ver0.8b which is the best IMHO at this time!

The last two are from the newer beta which shows a lot of promise but may still be a bit buggy. Havn't tried it for about a month now, so giver a go with the new version and report back if you like the newer UI look. It is also faster in the programing the HTC Plug to

I edited your post because it was rather large, but no worries.

Are you having problems with rapidshare, or is it that you cannot see where to click on? If it is the latter just click on "free" enter the code shown and download.
