Not compatible with HTC Touch Cruise?

Hi there,

I tested PS 4.0 now 2 days on my HTC Touch Cruise aka Polaris, everything was allright for me. Of course some features like "LocknShut" are not working, but for me it is important to protect my device after waking up and this is working very well. So congratulations for this very nice app.

After testing I would like to buy it but it wasn't availaible in my favorite online shops (Pocketland, Handango). Finally I found it on Pocketgear, but after selecting my device the website told me that its not compatible with my device? It was running for 2 days so why should it not be compatible?

Nonetheless I bought it, then Palmgear told me to uninstall the demoversion. Again this was completely stupid because one can enter the code in the demo version...

May be you should think about changing your reseller

I would like to ask one more question: Its written in the help file that the owners name and phone is shown on the lock screen. But even after registering the program only date and time is shown?

Finally I would like to ask for a feature in the next version: It would be great if one could see the missed calls and the number of text messages in the lock screen. Now I have to unlock the device to check if there are missed calls or text messages, if its possible to see this notifications on the lock screen there's no need to unlock the device.

PS: The link to this forum on PS_v4.0_Website_Home is still wrong.

Regards

Gerald

Re: Not compatible with HTC Touch Cruise?

Hi gerald_s,

Pocketchange, the developer for Pocket Secure will be along to answer you post I'm sure. It is a great program and WM5 & 6 compatable so shouldn't be an issue with your device. I've used it on many devices and don't even bother looking at compatability charts.

As you say, it's working so what's the problem?

There is an active beta program for the application and if you PM PocketChange he may invite you in if you're interested.

Re: Not compatible with HTC Touch Cruise?

Hi Tonybro

and thanks for the welcome. Actually I'm not new to this forum, but I'm not that active here.

I agree, its a great program. This is why I bought it after only 2 days of testing ,-)

The "problem" was the (totally wrong) information pocketgear gave me. I guess an unexperienced User wouldn't have bought it after this message.

I hope that the issue with locking the screen during a phone call will be solved in the next version. This is currently the only problem so far I noticed. If you can not end a phone call with the end button before unlocking the device its a bit annoying.

Thanks for the hint concerning the beta program, but Pocketchange mentioned in March in another thread that they are very close to the release But as I'm very interested in the next version I will send him a PM.

Re: Not compatible with HTC Touch Cruise?

PC has been going through a few traumas at work and home recently, so the release of PS5 has been a little delayed. I belive it is imminent though, but a PM to Joe may get you a Beta to try I think you will be happy with the current feature set

You're right, its imminent. No need for a beta, I can wait some more days and I'm looking forward to the new version.

Re: Not compatible with HTC Touch Cruise?

Hi Guys,

I'm really sorry that I missed this thread!

@Tony & Neil, thanks for your help and support...

@Gerald,
I'm glad that I did see your PM and we've already chatted! Below I've replied to your original post....

Thank you and glad you like it... The Lock-n-Shut feature also has some improvements in v5, so this should be better for you! Please remember that the Inactivity feature is monitoring "System Activity", and some apps can cause this PS feature not to work!

After testing I would like to buy it but it wasn't availaible in my favorite online shops (Pocketland, Handango). Finally I found it on Pocketgear, but after selecting my device the website told me that its not compatible with my device? It was running for 2 days so why should it not be compatible?
Strange that you did not see it on Handango! It has been on PocketGear & Handango since the first release! When setup on these sites, a long list of devices are provided, and your device may not have been checked! This is now also corrected. Thanks for pointing that out to me!

Nonetheless I bought it, then Palmgear told me to uninstall the demoversion. Again this was completely stupid because one can enter the code in the demo version...
Again strange as PS has always had the ability to be installed over itself! Not sure how/why that message came to be! The sites are now updated, so this shouldn't be an issue anymore!

May be you should think about changing your reseller

I would like to ask one more question: Its written in the help file that the owners name and phone is shown on the lock screen. But even after registering the program only date and time is shown?
Are you sure that the Help file didn't refer to the "About" screen? I will check to make sure as there could be a typo! Good news is that the new v5 has the ability to add "any" text on the main Password screen as well!

Finally I would like to ask for a feature in the next version: It would be great if one could see the missed calls and the number of text messages in the lock screen. Now I have to unlock the device to check if there are missed calls or text messages, if its possible to see this notifications on the lock screen there's no need to unlock the device.
Your wish is my command! hahaha.... Yes, there are now 4 system indicators on the Main Lock Screen in v5, including Alerts, SMS, Missed Calls & Email! Also different sound files can be associated with these! As with most other features, the images can be skinned to the owners preference...

PS: The link to this forum on PS_v4.0_Website_Home is still wrong.

Regards

Gerald
With all of that said, we are now LIVE with the new PSv5! The new update is available free for registered users at the all new PS website as well! A formal announcement will be made today...

So, enjoy and let me know if I can help in any way!

Thanks buddy, glad you like it! It's been tough. 15 minutes here, 20 minutes there made this a long process! Traveling will do that!

Still some details to finish, but almost there....

You're wright, shame on me.

I already installed V5, looks great and handles everything I need. The only thing I noticed so far is when I'm unlocking the device and returning to the today screen the touch keyboard is opening. If I'm encountering any other issues I will report it in "Bug reports".

No problem! Glad you like v5 so far.... The opening SIP happened to a few during testing, but has since not been an issue! I will check into it, but please keep me posted at the forum!

Enjoy!
