| HTC HD2 appears on Orange Support pages! |
|
Feb 06, 2010 - 7:33 PM - by tonybro

After taking the Toshiba TG01 and then categorically denying their interest in taking the HTC HD2, Coolsmartphone have found a sneaky page on Orange UK support pages....
We know already that the rather spiffing HTC HD2 is available from T-Mobile, o2 and Vodafone here in 'old Blighty. Orange though, have always maintained that they won't be selling it.. but hey, what's this in their support section? A dedicated HD2 support page ?
Now, either Orange are really going out of their way to help people buying the unlocked one and using it on Orange, or they're about to launch it themselves. Let's hope it's that latter, and as usual keep it locked here to find out more
Looks like all three major UK networks will be stocking the device!

| A year in review - why I came back to Windows Mobile |

"Hi Honey I'm home!" Well it's good to be back into the WM fold after straying away over the past year, first to the Nokia E71 with Symbian and then the iPhone 3Gs before coming back to WM with a bang via the HD2. My mobile device experiences over the past year have been an eye-opener for me in terms of what is out regarding choice and functionality, in a way that simply wouldn't have been experienced had I... Over the years since the advent of the Personal Digital Assistant, there have been a number of popular form factors, and this trend may be set for a shake-up over the next couple of years.
My personal involvement began in 1989 with the Microwriter AgendA, a handheld device with two lines of display and a unique method of entering text by the use of one handed finger buttons. It worked well but the limitations of its lack... [Read More]

| Carrier customizations |
|
Sep 08, 2009 - 3:23 PM - by johnston411

For a long time now i have wondered why mobile phone carriers feel the urge to lock down their devices and put their own customized (for want of a better negative word) roms on them.
I can understand from a branding point of view that T-mobile are the pink company, Vodafone are the red company, o2 are the blue company, Three are the green company and Orange are... well you get my drift.
The problem i have is that on their devices they seem to concentrate on filling them up with branded roms containing a great deal of normally unnecessary... [Read More]
