I'm considering getting my email hosted, and need the Push support obviously. Who do you guys rate as the best provider? There are loads out there!

Re: HTC Mail
I have my domain and email hosted with streamline.net, one of the fasthost comapanies - as I discovered late last year when they were hacked, all the account details were stolen and I had to spend several hours resetting all of my domain control passwords and then notifying every member of my family (whose email I host on their behalf) that their passwords had changed and talk them through changing them on any and all PC's, phones, pda's etc.
I'll leave it to you to decide whether that is a recommendation or not

Re: HTC Mail
I use 1&1 Internet Ltd. for my email and hosting and they do an upgrade to ActiveSync/Push email though I do not use it at the moment. Have never had any issues with them for the rest of the services though

Re: HTC Mail
Wavey: I'm still with 4Smartphone. They cost a little more now (about £5.50 pm depending on $ exchange rate) for a 512MB mailbox.
Service is rock solid; never had an outage, and includes a copy of OL2007. Their server is Exchange 2007, so full HTML email, and server search on the mobile. No limit to the number of clients either, unlike some of the mobile oriented services.

They look quite attractive in that I could move my hosting there too.

It was 4smartphone that tempted me really, still looks good value.

To be honest mate, I'm seeing less value from it. At the moment I host my own site, and exchange on my server, and have my music on it. I pay £45 a month for BT business broadband. I'm thinking I could get Sky broadband for £10 a month, hosted exchange for £5ish a month and a hosted website for £5-£10 a month. That way I save cash and when the power in my house trips out in the morning while I'm at work (blooming tumble dryer!!!) I don't lose connectivity for the whole day. Exchange wise although hosting my own is kinda fun I do all that at work so.......
It's also free up my machine to do other cools things and not have worry about rebooting it.

Re: HTC Mail
I may well be looking at one of these. For a long time I haven't been making the most of my WM devices due to the costs of data. However, after opening up the mobile market twelve months or so ago, we now have some proper competition over here and cable and wireless recently announced 1GB of data per month as a £10 bolt-on, either with a contract or PAYG. I don't use my phone much for calls and/or texts so the PAYG option is perfect for me.
I was waiting until number portability is introduced. It was supposed to be a year ago but keeps getting delayed as they are implementing the better, but more complex, Irish system rather than the UK and, obviously, there is little impetus for the previous incumbant to implement it quickly!
Anyway, it looks like I shall soon have a new mobile number, a decent data package AND be in the market for a hosted mail account. Roll-on September when Thunderbird is supposed to be upgraded with Exchange suport!

Re: HTC Mail
i was tempted to have a go at the trial - again the cost scared me off.
i'm currently with a free account with mail2web (and i've mentioned the limitations already) - but for free it's a no-grumble deal.
BUT... no one has commented on the additional features offered by HTCMail.
Yes, they do the usual of remote wipe, etc.
But did no one pick up on the "remote backup" feature?

Re: HTC Mail
I've just been having a quick look and it seems that 4smartphone.net don't do contacts, calendar or tasks in their standard package. It looks like push mail only. Is that right? It makes 1and1 look very tempting!
