FITALY 4 for WM5.0 - Preview out!
The long awaited preview version of FITALY for WM5.0 is now available, it seems to be non-VGA devices only for the moment but it is available at least.
Quote:
We combed through the messages submitted in the last 12 months and checked that these suggestions would be handled by Fitaly 4. When doing so, we see whether a general principle sustaining the changes can be found. Then, once we have a design, we can do another pass, suggestion by suggestion.
This new version offers a better separation of functions, which results into a smaller dll. Consequently, it is quite possible that problems encountered on some machines for Windows Mobile 2005 have now disappeared. This is definitely worth retrying.

Fitaly is an input method. Back before there were any devices with keyboards someone (Pocket PC Thoughts?) used to run a competition for entry speed using all the various stylus based input method. Fitaly users always cleaned up. It's one of those things that takes time to learn, but when you do it's way faster and easier than the alternatives - like say touch typing. The incentive to learn rather flew out of the window when built in keyboards arrived.

Thats my 1 real niggle with the MiniS! I can live without 3G and VGA, but the keyboard "feel" is horrible, and the domed keys hard to press- would be much better dished then domed!
The backlighting is inconsistent and the extra characters hard to locate.
Still my fave device though!
