Expired offer: DIVX Pro - for Free

DivX are joining in the Christmas spirit and for a short time are giving away their DivX Pro product for free.

This includes

- The DivX Converter ( handy little tool to create PPC friendly videos)
- The DivX Codec
- Web and Standalone Player

You can download the software here they will then email you with serial key.

I am afraid it only states "For a limited time" so get in there quick.

(Pah ! Humbug! - I had to pay for mine! its not fair!! - Scrooge aka The Mailman)

Re: DIVX Pro - for Free

I have never converted a whole DVD - I use a dvd copy app for that.
But I do use it to convert clips and small videos quite often.

The convert just looks like a watch and you just drag and drop the files onto it once you have set up the options.

I use the player a lot though for downloading the clips off the DIVX Stage 6 website - though a lot of the UK TV comedy shows have "disappeared".

It is a very good product and its free. I bought mine years ago and updates are free and regular and it wasn't expensive either then or now so heyho not really upset. mumble mumble mumble...

Re: DIVX Pro - for Free

Arrgh the dreaded toolbar! My user community have to have Java and the upgrades are constantly coming through with either the Google Toolbar (& Desktop search) or the Yahoo toolbar.

But they have just upped the ante and now you get Open Office. A huge download and then when it tries to install they are locked down and it fails on permissions.

Mind you they are beaten by MS who just slipped Windows Desktop Search through the Server Analyst here - it indexes everything hangs the PC and as for the users working "online" from home you just do not want to know.
