Re: Getting started with WMDC

When i first used wmdc i made the mistake of not installing outlook to my laptop and lost all my contacts. It wiped my phone clean.

Still i live and learn. Wish i'd asked first

Re: Getting started with WMDC

This was a question that came to mind well before I'm ready to do anything about it. Got to install Outlook on Vista first and decide whether to try to import my old data, or let the Trinity feed it into Outlook via WMDC.
As to how I like Vista Boz, the answer is not yet I don't. All too unfamiliar so far so everything I do is a bit disconcerting. Also I've got all my old data files, but because this wasn't a planned upgrade I haven't got stuff I need from programs, like an export of my bookmarks. Some serious digging to be done on whether I can get information out of my old Opera installation, had some good stuff saved in RSS feeds. It just takes so long to do anything because I have to install the programs first!

Re: Getting started with WMDC

sounds like you could use a good data recovery program to get all of that stuff back... I have found that as long as you have outlook configured, it is probably best to let WMDC pull the info from your device... If you have it in both places and then sync, you can end up with duplicates, which then brings about another issue altogether... duplicate appointments are the hardest things to rectify... still haven't gotten it all cleaned up... I've missed several important appointments and deadlines due to my flashing illness and not letting the apps do what they are designed to do...
