Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Yep, that's what I meant, that it's not active while the screen is off.

Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Not with WiFi- if the device is in standby, WiFi is off, so you won't receive messages unless you use GPRS.

With the Screen Off (not the same as Standby, and is an option with programs like Pocket Plus etc) it won't turn on again with an incoming message as it's a manual switch, though you should hear the sound alert if that's set on for an incoming message.

Standby = all functions suspended and WiFi Off, though incoming phone and SMS Calls will wake it up.

Screen Off: Screen just blanked to save battery; all other processes continue. Useful for music playing etc. Switching is manual. Not part of the OS, but included in a few utility programs.

All WM6 Pro devices have GPRS- it is simply the phone's over the air data services, via GSM or 3G/HSDPA

Your TyTnII is capable of both, but as you say it is dependent on you paying for the data used. This depends on which operator you are with, and whether you have any sort of inclusive data plan.

As IM is a text only service, that actual data used is quite small compared to web browsing, but can mount up nonetheless!
