Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Hi,

I have been charging my HTC tytn 2 with the charger of my Mini s since the first day I got the phone and the USB cable as well. I was wondering if it could do any damage to the battery of the htc tytn 2? And I don't have any problem with the phone. Thanks

Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Nothing I'm aware of. I use all sorts of USB chargers with various devices and never have any problems. The only problem I ever get is trying to charge a device with a completely flat battery using a USB cable rather than a proper charger.

Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Have a look at the current being supplied on the charger. I can't remember whether the Mini S was the last to be supplied with a 750mAh charger or the first to be supplied with a 1A charger. If you find it is a 750mAh charger you might find your charging is a little erratic. Sometimes it might not charge or charge very slowly etc. If it's a 1A charger you should have no issues at all.

I'm pretty sure it's a 750 but it works fine with the Touch Cruise which has the same power requirements as the TyTN II

Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

I always had problems with the 750mAh ones when using them with the Hermes (Tytn 1). Just something to be aware of.

Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Off topic. I want to be connected (wifi on) and I mean like able to receive messages, instant messages like AIM, MSN or Yahoo when I put my phone into standby? Is there any way to do be connected when I put my phone into standby? Pressing the power button means that your putting your phone into standby right? And I guess the battery dies quicker

Thanks

Re: Charging my HTC Tynt II with my O2 Mini S charger

Ok, the 5V-1A on the charger means that it's a 1A charger and so should be quite capable of charging your Tytn 2.

As for Standby, I've got a feeling (I can't remember at the moment and haven't got my device to hand) that standby "pauses" the wireless connection. Is this right? Can someone check?

It does not pause, but it disconnects and when you turn it on, it connects again.
