ActiveSync help

I have a new problem.

I can connect to my Vario III using USB and Activesync connects to it and allows me to explore the device.

However it will not sync! and now the phone has lost all my contracts and diary events.

Any thoughts?

Re: ActiveSync help

Hi Vex,

AS is a strange and frustrating beast!

Firstly I would delete the AS partnership on the PC and on the PPC again using the in-built AS app.

Do a soft reset and start again to see if it connects.

The other thing is to go into Start/Settings/Connections on the device and disable the USB advanced networking functionality to see if that kick starts things too....

Re: ActiveSync help

Sorted, it was the latest version of ZoneAlarm slowing / stopping everything.

Turned Zone Alarm off and it worked / sync'ed fine. Except I have now lost all my diary entries, but that is incidental really.

Thanks again.

V.

Re: ActiveSync help

Good that you've found the culprit!

I take it you can add AS to ZA so you can keep your protection?

Re: ActiveSync help

You should be fine adding AS to Zone alarm, you should get a pop up asking you for permission to add/allow, or just tick the allowed boxes in settings.
