Vista and Windows Mobile
MVP Jaap van Ekris has written two excellent articles on Modern Nomads about using Windows Mobile with Vista:
Windows Mobile Device Center Troubleshooting Guide
Windows Internet Connection Sharing under Vista
With the introdction of Windows Vista, ActiveSync has been abandoned, to be replaced by Windows Mobile Device Center. Inevitably the new product has introduced new problems. Jaap gives a clear logical set of steps aimed at fixing problems.
Vista has changed the way a Windows Mobile device can be used for getting a PC on to the internet by sharing its connection over Bluetooth. Jaap gives a clear guide to the steps needed to share your Windows Mobile connection with your laptop.

Some good points in there - some rather obvious but some of the others are very useful!

Yes some of it is obvious, but as a starting point for troubleshooting problems it's always worth checking the obvious.

Re: Vista and Windows Mobile
Some useful advice there. Might help explain why my XDA exec crashed when i did a hard reset and then failed to load the latest ROM. Got it to work now but not after a long fought battle !!!!

Re: Vista and Windows Mobile
These problems might be obvious to you guys and guyettes but it's a life saver for me. Thank you.
At least I hope it will be, I have to go carve the chicken now but am optimistic this sequence will enable my vista laptop to see the Orbit as it stopped doing so some weeks ago and I just charge the orbit now.
Trouble is, I cannot upgrade to ROM 6 as i cannot get the machines to conect. (I would not normally wish to upgrade the ROM (if it aint broke etc) but you're all so smitten with it and you're usually right.
If it works I'll drop a thank you to the author as well.
