If only.....!!!!! Nice review and i liked the improved headset too. If i'd known this was comming out end of Nov i would not have upgraded in Sept. But then again my mobile was nicked so not an awful lot i could do about that, unless i consider getting a second contract !! Muhahahaha !

Question Re: Xda Stellar Review

HI Everyone...

Eecellent review Daron and good pictures of the phone - Well Done!

The reason I ended up in this forum is because I was looking for actaul picture of the phone to compare with Orange version(Voda & T-mobile is out as the colour is horrible!). I think orange is nicer and it does not have Orange logo on it, the other important factor is whether the phone from Orange will be sim free as I am aware that all o2 phones are sim free.

I have been getting all my xda phones from O2 as O2 used to launch them first BUT I am disappointed that xda Stellar (what a name?) is available after the 3 service providers have launched theirs. I think I have waited long enough and also trying to be loyal with o2 has almost come to an end unless I can get the phone by the 3rd Dec (really I want it for my birthday 27th Nov).

My questions are :
1. Should I wait for o2?
2. Is Orange TyTN II sim free?
3. Will Stellar be sim free?
4. How is Orange 3G compare to o2?
5. Is there any major differences between Orange vs o2?

I hope someone can help me to decide or give some answers to the above questions.

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Xda Stellar Review

Hi timeismoney.

I can answer some of your questions!

2) Orange phones are all SIM locked; you can get the TyTn II unlocked at IMEI check for £20
3) The Stellar will be SIM free, as are all O2 phones
4) Currently, Orange have much better 3G/HSDPA coverage than O2, but things change quickly!

Re: Xda Stellar Review

The Vodafone 1615 is a nice looking device, have you had a good look at it? It also comes sim free, and their coverage is excellent.

Re: Xda Stellar Review

IMEI Check have an unlocking procedure for the TyTnII, so presumably it will work on the Stellar?

Costs £20

Re: Xda Stellar Review

That's a U-turn. IMEI check categorically stated they weren't going to release a Tytn 2 unlock last time I heard.

Its different to their usual procedure due to their claim the people were unlawfully hacking the downloaded unlockers for other devices.

With the Kaiser, you send some info to IMEI Check and they manually prepare an unlock file which they email to you, which you then run on the device.

Edit: details Here
