Re: O2 Xda Serra

I want a new case for the XDA Serra as the one that came with it is simply not up to the job. Any suggestions ???

Re: O2 Xda Serra

I really like the case.
My first call for a case would be to visit Proporta - But of course there is lots of choice.
Let us know if you find something ideal, and I'm sure that other users will give you their recommendations.

@Windows - the pouch... if the pouch with the O2 version is the same as what Vodafone supply, have you noticed that you can put the device in ANY end of the pouch and the elastic strap adjusts to allow the phone in?
I'm so impressed with the simplicity of this case and the look and feel, that I've ordered another one for the other half's C905!

I've no idea at all as actually a Serra case was not provided with the review machine, the one in the shots is from the Ignito

Re: O2 Xda Serra

Did I mention that I'm using an old Nokia case for the Serra, an almost perfect fit... Well, there is a recession on!

Re: O2 Xda Serra

Been using my XDA Serra for a few days now and just wanted to give my first impressions.

The overall size, keyboard and screen resolution are all excellent - its the first device that is actually pleasurable to surf the internet on!

On a negative side, the GPS is VERY disappointing. I did read on XDA Developer that the GPS was poor - but didn't think it could be THAT bad - but it is actually unusable for short journeys. It takes between 15 and 30 mins to get a lock every time (once a lock has been obtained it appears to work fine). I actually have Sat Nav in my car, but I would imagine that if this was my only Sat Nav device it would be going back! I do use the Sat nav when abroad so I will probably have to dig out my old bluetooth GPS receiver....
What are other peoples experiences of the GPS??

It's also the first time I've seen TouchFlo 3D so I've been trying to test it out. I have found that, although it looks nice, it just doesn't have the functionality or features or ease of use that SPB Mobile Shell has, so I think I will be reverting to that. It also takes over the whole of the Today screen (which I don't think is a great idea) - but if I could launch it as and when required it may be more useful? If I hard reset and stop the O2 customisation stuff from installing will I be missing any of the other software?

Overall, I do love the device, the screen and keyboard especially, but if anyone is thinking of using it for Sat Nav it may not be the best device for you (unless O2 release a ROM update)
