Thanks for the response guys. I wasn't aware of the Touch Pro 2. Having looked at sparse reviews, this looks impressive and I may hold out for this to come to O2? Any indicators of when that might happen?
Reading between the lines in the communications I have with O2 I think it is not likely that they will be taking the machine on board, but that is only my gut feeling.
The XDA Serra has been around for months. The ony way Retentions might not have it is if they have sold out and they aren't getting any more in.
The HTC equivalant (the Touch Pro) is being replaced very soon by the (surprise!) Touch Pro 2 so it could be O2 have cleared out their stock to make way for the replacement.
Has O2 had a new policy on phones whilst I've been wandering through the T-Mobile wilderness? It looks from this review as if the Serra hasn't been out that long for them and presumably they will do the usual and be months behind any new release?
I'm about to become very interested in O2 devices again so I wouldn't mind a bit of an insight into how they have been with getting new devices to market lately.
O2 traditionally bring new devices to market around the August / September time. No news or gossip at all yet as to what will be forthcoming this year!

That would be a real shame from my point of view (assuming you are talking about the touch pro 2). I would certainly switch to another carrier to get the device that I want which is a shame because I have a lot of respect for O2 who have provided me with excellent service and customer support in the past.
Is O2 the only one who has this phone?
I thought Vodaphone would also distribute it but I can't find it in their online shop (HTC touch pro).
I am at the moment getting out of the T mobile contract & the Vario IV was a complete failor. Is O2 Xda serra & Vodaphones touch pro so much better? Beeing the same phone how come? Could please somebody advise me to who change? O2 or Vodaphone?
