Re: O2 XDA Zest Review!
For me it has the best inbuilt gps i have ever used on a device. Very plased with it. The inclusion of mobile shell is a nice change too.
As for getting the back off if you look at the mould of the black plastic there is only one way it will go so hold the front firmly and slide off. It takes a little force but once you've done it once it's easy.

I turn the device over, and hold the device in both hands with my thumbs on the back cover toward the top and bottom of the device. Then, apply a little pressure, but not too much, and slide the back towards the top of the device. As johnston411 says, it's tricky at first but is easy once you've done it.

I can confirm that all the production Zest devices are NOT network locked.

Re: O2 XDA Zest Review!
Hi everyone, Wonder if you can help, O2 UK is offering this phone for upgrade, but reading the detailed reviews the Zest seems to be a great phone, however the reviews by users in the O2 websites clearly highlights one point "Battery Life", which has got me confused as i badly wanted to upgrade before XMas !!!, please help clarify this .
The O2 reviews are in:
Mobile reviews - Mobiles & Tariffs - O2
Cheers!

Re: O2 XDA Zest Review!
I've had the Zest for 2 weeks now and battery life has improved. I'm guessing the owners didn't read the full manual which says you have to let the battery go flat 3 times. I didn't but since I've done it twice so far, it has improved. It depends really if they have the brightness setting on max which probably doesn't help, nor having the radio transmitters on. The good news is, that it doesn't take long to charge - slightly slower via USB obviously but acceptable to me.
Today for instance, 45mins of calls, Bluetooth on, GPS on for 30 mins plus 30 mins of wifi (no BT/GPS) and it was down to about 60% from full. Thing is, the day before I was running it down flat and had all the radios on and watching Youtube videos for 30 mins. Took over an hour to drain completely. Prior to that, I was driving for 2 hours with the GPS/Co pilot on all the time, medium brightness and only a 10min call during the day. I'd love to find out how long it would last with call only but with playing with wifi & GPS, it will be a while
BTW, if your upgrade is a really good deal (get the web bolt on for free) I don't think you will be disappointed.

Re: O2 XDA Zest Review!
looking at the reviews from the link i suspect that the people may have used their old chargers from other wm devices. this causes all sorts of charging issues due to differences in the charging circuit

Re: O2 XDA Zest Review!
Can anyone else confirm that the Zest is network unlocked? I know Lord Buckingham has stated it is, but I want to be 100% certain before I go out and buy one!! I've not seen mention anywhere else that it is, so better to be certain... Cheers
