The video quality is pretty good too; more or less exactly the same as the iPhone, except the iPhone has lower pxels per inch. For playback, I used Windows Media Player that came with the TD2
That sounds excellent. I must get around to transcoding all my family home vids into a format WM can read.

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

Thanks, I decided that the iPhone "on the road" wasn't for me. The car kit would struggle with echoes and people complained they couldn't hear me. I hated the lack of SMS features in iPhone but which you do get in WinMO (or any 'run of the mill' phone come to that). Given that when I'm out doing a 1000 miles in a week as does regularly happen, the later WinMo devices appear to be a better choice than an iPhone.

(For the record, I hate the term, "Road Warrior"...)

I've found that the "slidey" buttons in TouchFlo's Comm Manager don't actually need sliding....you just press it and voila! The iPhone has corrupted me...doh!

The language is built into the ROM (Operating System) so you will need to replace the Chinese ROM with an English one.

You first need to install HardSPL which will enable you to load a new operating system. This is an ESSENTIAL step.

See This Topic on how to install this.

Once installed, you can then obtain an English (WWE) ROM for the Diamond 2. There are some in This Topic

Both references are on the XDA-Developers site, and you will need to register to download the items.

Hi, can you please tell me how do you install Tomtom 7 on Touch Diamond 2, it keeps telling me "Your device is not compatible with this version of tomtom navigator". Thanks a lot. Ben

Hi Ben, sorry but your post seems to have been missed somehow.

You will need to install the Tomtom version 7.910 VGA cab file which is freely available (Google) to work properly, and don't forget the maps have to be registered to your device, this can be done online though Tomtom Home.

Are any of the UK networks offering this phone? It's not on O2's site any more, Orange says out of stock, Vodafone don't have it. T Mobile have an MDA Vario IV but I don't think that's the same model.

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

I got mine about 3 weeks ago with Orange. I didn't see it anywhere else at that time.

TMobile are doing it as the MDA Compact V I think it is. I've heard July 4th being mentioned as a release date.
