Thanks, seems some patience is in order then. Not my strong point.

Don't know if it will be any use for you, but Carphone Warehouse are offering the Diamond2 on O2 and Orange. I remember they were offering it on T-Mobile as well when I got mine, but a quick look shows it isn't on the site any more :/

I'm not sure how Cyc feels about it but I wouldn't touch Carphone Warehouse with a barge pole. I had a contract with them about 4/5 years ago and just had pain from them all the time with being charged incorrectly etc. They'd blame O2, O2 would blame them. Since then I've had direct contracts with Voda, TMob and O2 (usually 2 on the go at once) and never had any issues at all.

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

I personaly have never had any issues with Carphone Warehouse. 90% of my contract phones have been taken out with them on O2, Orange and T-Mobile.
When the Orbit 2 came out, I first took the contract out on O2 before I knew about T-Mobiles W&W. 4 Days later, I'm back in the Carphone Warehouse shop and they are switching me over from O2 to T-Mobile

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

Hi, this is my first post on here, so firstly a hello to you all. I found this site a few months ago whilst looking for reviews on the HTC Touch Diamond2 and found this review to be really helpful.
I got my TD2 through Carphone Warehouse about 6 weks ago and absolutely love it. I used Carphone warehouse as I my contract with O2 was up and O2 don't do this phone. I wanted to stay with O2 and they recommended CW as their preferred supplier. CW kept my existing package - £35 pm + free web bolt on - and charged £50 for the phone (phone should be £100 on that package but I haggled them down in price). mobiles.co.uk which is a CW subsidiary could do me the phone for £20 but could not give me the web bolt on though and that free internet access was important to me. Although the phone was supplied by CW, the contract stays with O2. O2 still bill me and collect the money.
So, to the phone. It is without doubt the best phone I have ever had. The phone is easy to use. The touch screen is so accurate. The camera is quite good in daylight but the lack of zoom is a drawback. The video quality is good too.
One question though. I use the Opera web browser. It comes with a pre set list of favourites. I can add my own favourites to the list, but how do you remove the ones you don't want? There is a delete option on the menu but it only deletes the current selection, which is always the top one. If you try to highlight another favourite from the list to delete it, it just goes straight to the website for that favourite.
Cheers
Paul

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

Are you looking at the favourites in TouchFlo that point to Opera (in the internet tab) or in Opera itself?

I've not got a Diamond2 in front of me but often if you hold down you stylus (or finger) for a while a context menu will pop up and allow you to do things. Can you try this with one of your pre set favourites.

Also, (and I may be wrong here) but isn't the favourites list taken from Opera itself? If you delete the preset favourites within Opera does that work?

Thanks for the tip. I got it now. I need to Launch Browser (Opera) from the touchflo screen then call up the bookmarks, then keep the relevant bookmark pressed as you suggested. The menu then pops up with delete as an option. Ta

This is my first post here, though I have been reading this thread (and bookmarked) it from the moment I sighted-it a month or so ago.

We were (me and my wifey) so delighted on reading this thread that, when I bought my TD2 in India, the first thing I did was open this thread.

I have a quick question on the auto-rotate:
a) I observed that even Opera and Albums' do not auto-rotate in my handset, though Teeter works perfectly.
  • I read on the net that the new Album in the TD2 does not auto-roate by default.
  • But am surprised by the Opera behaviour. Could You please clarify.
