Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

I've just checked my Diamond 2, which is running an older ROM, and it does auto rotate in both Opera and Album, but only one way. If I rotate the device anti clockwise it rotates, but not if I rotate it clockwise.

Thanks waveydavey.
Could You please post Your ROM version.

I was worried if this is some h/w issue, i hope it is not since Teeter works fine.

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

...now for the BAD:

3DFlow looks gorgeous but makes LIVING with D2 a living hell (ok, maybe slight exageration there ;o) - try to add a program of your choice to that shortcut menu: there is no alternative to sliding the list of all programs up or down but with your finger and that's where it falls flat on it's face: 9 out of 10 you will select a program your finger lands on. 1 ot of 10 you will manage to shift the list somewhere and it's a pot luck if what you actually want is within selection window now...

Yes, control (or lack of there of) like this is BAD, not working, back to the drawing board situation.

There is no programmable buttons available either (ok there's one according to Win6.5 but your guess is a good as mine which one it actually is). A simple thing like flicking pages in MS Reader (tried uBook, couldn't use it, controls are too small/confusing) is a pain, 3D Flow thing is not working there...

I'm not at all sure one needs to access volume control constantly for it to be on the side of the phone - if only HTC would ditch it and converted those 2 buttons into something useful...

As it is - iPhone it certainly is not. It's a very good looking/feeling WM6.5 based phone with (for some truly unexplicable reason) castrated WM6.5 functionality.

Go with Spb Mobile Shell and give that a go to replace Touch Flo 3D, you might find it makes all the difference.

Thank you - it certainly does (I do like the clock in 3D Flow though). I wish HTC would simply have installed SpB's shell from the start...

Grin, well hopefully as Spb develop the application more clock styles may become available.

Question Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

Hello,
Noobie here - just looking at getting the Touch Diamond 2 in the UK. The one BIG deciding factor is that of TomTom. According to TT's website, the TD2 is not compatible (yet).
Is this the case? I want to get TTN7 but don't want to get the phone if it's not compatible.....

Can anybody confirm either way?

Thanks in advance,

Scoob

Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!

Scooby,

Tom Tom are famous for saying it's 'not supported' so they can pass the buck if you get issues.

The X1 I have has the same screen resolution as your D2 and it works fine but it can just be a bit fiddly initially.

If ordering just select the Diamond so it gives you the VGA version of the software....
