Re: HTC Touch Diamond 2 - Living with!
Cheers guys glad you are enjoying the thread still
No more to report today as the SD card has definitely gone adrift and Mobi will not send a new one out until tomorrow at the earliest, so it will be Monday / Tuesday before i can carry on testing
As to the questions, ref the old one about Touch FLO 3D, I can confirm the 'Today' clock shows 3 appointments in large clock mode, and 5 when scrolled up to minimal mode. I checked last night for you.
Comparing the X1 and the D2 is difficult. The reason I saw this is that I'm using a cooked ROM (Itje's) on the X1 which gives the Touch FLO 3D goodness to the machine. That though you may say gives them an even greater similarity.
So if we do want to compare on that basis, then speed wise there is very little difference as the two both have similar memory / CPU specifications. The X1 scores in having more buttons that can be configured and of course has the panel system. In operation the D2 has a slightly faster screen refresh (or so it feels) and also benefits in finger operation by having a more touch oriented screen - in that the screen is more responsive and does not have the rim that the X1 has. The X1 though of course has the hardware keyboard. The D2 is also slightly louder volume wise and for me has a better radio by one blob. The D2 feels about half the weigh though when in the hand, but to counter that the X1 is significantly smaller.
The Notes application is straight WM6.1 in that both written and keyboard typing is supported. And as we have the new launcher in place can be launched quite painlessly.
The SIP (Soft interface panels) provided include:
- Full QWERTY
- Keyboard
- Phone pad
- Transcriber
- Letter recogniser
- Block recogniser
and from the test just done all work in Excel.
Any more questions guys?
