The HTC HD2 (O2 variant)
Over recent years O2 announced and brought to the world the renowned Xda range of machines. Unfortunately the Windows Mobile devices offered by O2 seemed to be released less often with the dark days of the iPhone and O2's singular UK market of that...

Ref the PDF's find attached a number of full size screen shots taken from various elements of the files you linked to. From what I can see there looks not to be any reflow facility in there alas

thanks for the pdf screenies - they look great. I imagine in landscape they would be even moreso. I think it will work very nicely for my purposes. Bummer about no reflow option. On the Touch Pro it is part of the View menu. Still, could be that the Diamond workaround for the original HD might work out ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...36#post3109636)
By the way, when I click on the screenies I don't see full-res, only a smaller thumbnail size. Is there a different trick to it? Would be great to see actual pixel results.

I re-read the review, but somehow I don't see comments on Remote Desktop? Fiddly but usable... With all the other benefits of the HD2, though, and the ability to zoom in, maybe it won't be too bad.
I saw a YouTube video demo comparing it to the orig HD with stylus, and the HD/stylus looked like the winner. It is a bit odd, though, since they connected for the demo in portrait mode...
I imagine you can still do landscape? and I'm also curious - are there options on the HD2 for the resolution on the remote desktop? I'm used to panning around already from using previous qvga screens, so that wouldn't be horrible. It would be great to have option for a desktop bigger than 800x480/800x600 and then pan around the screen. A lot of more recent desktop apps, including some Windows settings, don't do well with the smaller resolutions and the "OK" button falls off the screen (landscape).
Thanks!

Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review
Twice in the review you mention that it has a 3.5 inch screen! Once in screen readability and once in Pros.
Apart from that, a very interesting review and I look forward to seeing how the camera on mine does when I get it. I can also then add my ratings.
I think that missing off the GPS location information on standard photos is a really big error. This could have been a leader in the field.

Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review
The GPS photo tagging can be reinstated with a registry edit.

The Saturation & Contrast may explain the sense I got from the image analysis (that I did & posted about on Saturday) where the colour level and colour contrast seemed quite strong no matter how I manipulated the image. If you recall I though they looked better with a reduced gamma which should broadly reverse the higher saturation (?) unless I'm confused.
The Spot Metering would contribute to the general over exposure of the sky in both the landscapes but to be honest that's exactly the situation you might choose use spot metering. To ignore the part of the frame you care about least. So a picture of the hillside would expose the frame to suit the dark vegetation rather than bright sky (or an average of the two). That's usually what you want as otherwise the hillside would be in deep shadow with little detail showing.
If you noticed my post of the blue channel from the seascape it still seems probable to me that there is a potential problem with too much UV sensitivity. It may be worth finding (someone with) a traditional UV or Sky-1 camera filter (say off a film SLR) and taking a comparison shot with & without that infront of the camera. (Sorry, if you've replied to that post - I'm working through the thread in the wrong order).

Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review
Okay here we go.....
Remote Desktop does work, but you do need to use the magnifier to be able to handle it, which unfortunately will not screen capture using any application I've got here. As a default as well it is in portrait, there is no option (unless I missed it) to rotate the screen, that is what makes it fiddly Screen shots below.
GPS Photo, as Boz says this can be enabled via a registry hack, a pity though that it is not there via an option.
Photos - You could well be right about the light balance but alas I do not have a more sophisticated camera to test against.

Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review
Hi, great review.
At the begining you are correct in saying the screen size is 4.3", but when you get down to "screen readability" you say 3.5" and again in "pros" you say 3.5"
What is it like to hold in your hand? Is it easy to use one handed i.e sit in the palm and use your thumb, or is it more a 2 hand operation?
With regards to the cut and paste - I have a TYTN II with a cooked 6.1 ROM and have always been able to cut and paste part or all of txt.
Does it recognise phone numbers in txt and e-mails for quick dialing?
