The HTC HD2 (O2 variant)

Over recent years O2 announced and brought to the world the renowned Xda range of machines. Unfortunately the Windows Mobile devices offered by O2 seemed to be released less often with the dark days of the iPhone and O2's singular UK market of that...

Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review

Silly question, but in PI have you turned on the 'Touch' mode of operation?

I don't think my hands are that big but I guess most of the time I have few issues, I agree the occasional check box foxes me but apart from that no big issues.

PI is being revamped for WM7, but if it takes on the silly iPhone like dials, I'll not be upgrading...

Bah B****y Humbug!
PS: I've tried installing my brand new & original version of TomTom Nav 7 and it has the message "your device is not compatible with this version of navigator"

Hi Daron - I was just referring to the picture of the HD in your hand - it looks like the diamond 2 does in my hand! (maybe I'm the odd one! )

I have tried touch mode - it's entering apts and such that I struggle with. Due to my job, I enter a lot of information and new apts on my device daily and it really was a chore today - maybe I'm impatient and should give it another go...

You will need the either the 910.9185 or 915.9169 black VGA cab file for Tomtom 7 to run on the HD2. They are available on xda developers if you use the search.

Tis weird as being a premature birth I do have slightly undersized hands, but then again as an ex-piano player maybe I'm just used to stretching the fingers out.

I'd definitely give it another go, or try using the HTC Calendar as that is much finger friendlier.

Unhappy Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review

Well as good as it is I've had mine for 3 days and it's going back.

The Windows Market store is rubbish still.
Windows Mobile 6.5 is a letdown.
The touch screen isnt' as responsive as the iPhone.
The on screen keyboard input does auto correct half as good as one really needs.

Gutted as I had high high hopes for this device.

Re: O2 HTC HD2 Review

Hi All - great review!

always on GPRS / HSDPA connection
I trust one can disable this when roaming to save racking up a large data bill.

Is there a simple setting for this? On my TyTN II, I created a NUL connection for INTERNET under NETWORK MANAGEMENT, but that always seemed a bit of an ugly solution. The email client was never happy with this.

Pleased you like the review, there is an option in the email settings to stop send/receive while roaming.
