Hi Neil, I yeah Mum still has the n520.. she lost the maps recently for Tomtom though so I had to reinstall them for her. She's not happy with it though, she thinks there are too many buttons (and pushes them accidentally when mounting it on the windscreen) so I have disabled all of the buttons. And she finds the TomTom software very difficult to use. she keeps asking me to sell it for her and get her a Garmin... I'm not sure how much I would get for an n520 nowadays though!
I am starting to use mine a lot more now, mainly for music but i'm trying skype also. I find the internet connection really really slow though. and only noticed the difference when i tried my sisters itouch which is like lightening.. is there any way I can install safari onto this n560? also I didn't realise there was wm6 out. I will try to download this and see if it makes any difference.
yeah decided not to get the iphone unless it comes with built in gps and 3g

The iPod Touch is using Wi-Fi so will be a lot quicker - remember it's not a telephone just an iPod with Wi-Fi.
iPhone with 3G should be out in June if rumours are to be believed.
one year on... The N560 is an excellent machine, although no doubt you have all upgraded now to something much more up to date!
Hmmm.. upgrading. My N560 screen has just broken. Expecting an expensive repair, I am looking for a replacement PDA. But nothing meets the spec of the N560! I want 3.5" VGA, Windows Mobile, GPS, Bluetooth and SD card. Surely the rest of the pack would have caught up by now? Any suggestions?
There are a couple of new devices with large screens that may fit the bill; Asus Galaxy, not yet released or HTC Touch HD also not out yet, but looking interesting.
Thanks for this! These have even higher resolution than I expected. I do wonder, though, when they say things like "AGPS connectiity" or "GPS and A-GPS ready". It seems deliberately ambiguous. Does it mean they have in-built GPS or that they can work with an external GPS?

Alternatively, the N560 is now available rebadged as the Pharos Traveller . Available for £148 (LINK REMOVED)
I had noticed that one and thought it looked familiar! It is certainly a cheap option - and I can use my current SDcard with my installation of TomTom 6 (I think) without requiring another licence.
This has given me a few useful leads. Thanks again.

You would need a new license for TomTom as the Device ID would be different. As long as you have the original product code and you haven't activated on more than 2 devices, you should be able to do it automatically on ttcode.com
GPS and A-GPS etc are a little confusing. In Windows Mobile terms, generally A-GPS is an additional service to GPS, so if it quotes A-GPS, then the device invariably has a built-in GPS receiver. It then gets some data over the air via the phone signal to reduce fix times. Non-windows mobile devices sometimes quote A-GPS as a stand alone service, where the phone has a no dedicated GPS receiver, but uses Cell Tower triangulation to obtain a fix to within about 100m. This has to be supported by the networks and the software (GoogleMaps is using this technology in some areas now)

I have just looked at this. The resolution of the 535v is quoted as 480x640, as the N560, but there are others which are 240x320 at a similar price - maybe equivalent to the 520? The 535+ is one, with a slower processor. It costs more at £161.20 because it has 2Gb flash memory. Not a good trade-off to me. The website has a minimum order of $500.

I have just ordered a Pharos 535v from (LINK REMOVED). I am expecting it to be just the same as the N560. Because there was a minimum order of $500, I actually had to order two !! The price for two was £297.24, but the transfer cost £27 !!. So they have cost me £162.12 each. I am based in the UK, the website is based in the States and the money had to go to Italy. Keeping my fingers crossed ...

I've just Google'd "looksmartpro.com" and the results aren't looking good. "looksmartpro.com" - Google Search

Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! I just followed a link I got from this forum and assumed it would all be OK. I never thought to check. I sent cash via Western Union. Looks like, in terms of awakening, that I will be the last Buddha!
