Having used the device for some time now (Although I am on my thrid v1605 due to screen alignment issues and a faulty keyboard) I can honestly state that the review is correct in every way execpt one - the battery for me is excellent!

Are you using Push Des? Apparently Push hits the battery hard.

I get about 18 hours on a full charge using push, I don't let it get extremely low, maybe 30% then recharge.

Cheerio

Yeah, that's about what I'm seeing. Compared to almost 3 days with the Mini S it's not great.

I don't even get 8 hours but then I am still using auto network settings so it's the UMTS hunting that kills me

Hmmm, not sure what I'm getting from mine, although I do recharge frequently/have it connected to the PC...

Not so mate. I've been using Auto network settings all along.

Ahh, but it's dependent on location. I could probably get 24 hrs at our Blackburn site where there is definitely no 3G, whereas Manchester or nr the airport in sunny Scotland and the battery is flat as a pancake in no time at all.

Well that's easy then. Avoid Manchester and Scotland. Common sense really.......

Re: Vodafone V P A Compact III v1605 (HTC Hermes) Review

Had an E61 but wifi never works so voda have offered me a v1605, looks good but they say wont be in stock till Nov 13th.

Look forward to trying it out, ive had a slew of WM devices and was cautious about going symbian. The keyboard attracted me to it and i have to say its far and away the best ive used including the Tytn, but no good to me if nothing else works.

one question, has anybody tried the beta of Flash 2 with this device and can you stream flash A/V?

thanks
