WM5 can't use MP3's as ringtones natively.

Your options are to convert MP3's into WAV, WMA or MIDI files, and put them in the Windows/Rings folder, (WMA being favourite due to the relatively small file size) or use a 3rd party Ringtone program which supports MP3

Re: Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX T830 Review

hi,
many thanks for the answer.
and what have i to do to personalize the alarm sounds too, like sms , e-mail received?
another question.
I bought a transcend minisd (w/adapter) of 4gb capacity. On the package there is written: "for SDHC device only".
Actually the card is not recognized by the pda. Even if I put it on an universal card reader nothing happens. Do you think the sd is not compatible with the pda? As i read above it could accept even 8gb cards. Probably i got a bad sd module....
Thanks in advance for your replies.

bye.
M

Hi to everyone. I'm considering to get this phone and I want to ask about comparing it to HTC Tytn, which one to buy? Did anybody has chace to "play" with both of them? From reviews on this site I red that main disadvantage from FS is small screen and from HTC is small battery. I tried FS for couple of minutes and I like it. What about processor, is it fast enough? What about playing video files (divx) and mp3. Which processor is better- Intel PXA270 or Samsung 400?

Re: Fujitsu-Siemens Pocket LOOX T830 Review

Hi there,
i think my t830 has a problem with the front speaker.
turning the speaker volume up i hear not so good, with noise and disturbing peaks. is it a problem of my device or of all t830's?
thanks more and more.

In which mode is the T830 operating as a normal phone, as a speakerphone, or just playing back system sound?

Saying that I've not experienced any sound problems at all with mine.

It is indeed, I just wish it had a more up to date AKU or WM6. Especially as the ROM update released earlier this week has now been pulled by FSC.

Question Re: Loox T830

Smart review, but how about a Dictaphone functionality? I am specially interested in making technical notes & (a bit of) conference recording; if there is any limitation on writing format/time - means will it write "all the 2 Gb SD card" - and how usable it is in a noisy environment? Yes, i knew that there's a couple of more "special" devices like Fostex'es or Tascam HD-P2's, but they're pricey and heavy to carry, too

There is also a big question on GPS map availability. Of course, it's not difficult today to obtain a detailed map for USA or Germany, but Nav Pack price (in fact there's no localised-one included) should be also taken in consideration, escpecially in areas which aren't so well E-mapped [for example, Russia, CIS & Eastern Europe]

Re: Loox T830

From memory there is a recording app on there that did perform well as a recording device. I used it for a while and I think took recordings up to about 1Gb of space but did not go beyond that, some of the recordings were taken on the factory floor at work and were still understandable.

Means "no limitation"? Sounds nice
