SBSH is one of the most respected of the Windows Mobile developers; they produce a number of high quality programs for both Touchscreen and Smartphone...

re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
I had never thought that the Pocket PC
Would turn into a device that was touchy-feely
But, I guess, thanks to HTC
It's happened...so I've ordered a Touch HD
Of course, which apps will run in this way?
So in it's compartment, my stylus would stay
Well, one of them is SBSH Calendar Touch
So thanks, Amit & Co., thank you very much!

Re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
Excellent review neilm, Calendar Touch is a great alternative to Pocket Informant if you don't need the complete power that Pocket Informant offers.

Re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
I am a long time SBSH fan/supporter who recently moved over to WM from S60. I loved Papyrus (now SBSH Calendar) on the S60 platform and felt it came as close to being the "perfect' product as was possible.
Having just acquired my HTC Touch last March (WM6.1), I was very interested (if not anxious) to get back to Papyrus on this platform. While I filled the intervening gap with PocketBreeze (a well done and equally useful Today screen replacement), I was very happy to see SBSH Calendar Touch released this month.
I would have to agree with the other posters that it still feels a tad on the "not quite ready for prime time" side however, it is very close and still very good. I am still finding more features as a proceed with my review/experience and participate in the vendor forums.
My biggest wish/feedback to the product team has been to ensure that they incorporate not just "touch" enabled features but also make the features available via menu. For example, there is no direct "Goto Today" action. You have to use the calendar slider or a "tiuch" stroke which is currently broken with TouchFlo devices. RoyDev was always very cognisant of this in the S60 version.
I feel positive that the new version will "get there" and get there soon. For now, I'll poke and prod and send my comments along to Amit and the crew over at SBSH.

Re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
Just a quick 'heads-up' to let you all know that SBSH Calendar Touch has been updated to V2.1.
This new release addressess most of the issues seen with touch navigation, with a complete overhaul of the interface and an abandoning of the standard WinMo softkey bar other than in some of the settings screens.
I've updated the end of the review with additional comments and some new screenshots
Top work by Jason at SBSH

It looks like everyone is racing towards greater finger friendliness, good to see such a worthy update from SBSH.

Re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
...and as I said before, this really elevates CT to the top of the tree for me, as I don't need all the bells and whistles of PI, nor the fussy interfaces of some of the others
Now, hopefully SBSH can start work on ContactBreeze and get it integrated with this, and with PocketBreeze.
PB now shares a lot of the 'finger friendly' coding that CT is using, and the 2 work very well together

Re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
I just installed the trial of this. It asked if I wanted it to replace the links on my device for Calendar and tasks so I said yes. It then asked if I wanted it assigned to a soft-key and I said no. When it launched, it hadn't taken over any of my links. Even after a soft-reset. And I couldn't find anything within the settings for either the links or the soft key. So, having had to run it from the Start Menu -> Programs I tried setting it up. The custom reminders looked good. Then I tried to set a default reminder and the only ones on the list were hard coded. I couldn't edit them and I couldn't choose from one of the custom reminders I had just set up. WTF?
So, after five minutes of encountering nothing but ill-thought-out/erroneous behaviour it's already gone. Which is a huge shame because it LOOKS like it would be right up my street.
Maybe version 2.5?

Re: Review: SBSH Calendar Touch
This is odd
I agree about the lack of retro-active setup options. The shortcuts and softkey assignments are 'once-off' at installation time.
However, I've just looked at these on my Diamond and Flint. On both of these, the start menu shortcuts definitely open the Calendar Touch program rather than the default program, but I do also have the left softkey assigned to CT. I wonder if there may be a coding glitch when one is selected, but not the other?
I've also checked the Reminders function on my 2 devices and both work as expected. Opening Settings/General and scrolling down to, then opening Reminder Values gives a list of 10 reminder options. Tapping Set on any of these allows that reminder to be set to a user defined value. Done commits the change. From here, I can select any of these values as the default, even those I've edited.
So, for me it all seems to work as intended. Not sure where your problem is stemming from. Which device/ROM are you using?
