I answered my own question! Found this Registry hack on xda-developers courtesy of 'hotmail':

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C4
String: Name
Value: Button 1 ---> Button 4

Doh you beat me to it, you are having a good chat to yourself I see! I understand what the post was about now, I have attached a cab file for the soft keys an icon should show up in settings.

There's another issue I've noticed with this ROM but it's actually a problem with HTC Home (and probably the dodgy Hermes video drivers too) that I noticed after downloading the excellent HTC Home Customizer app. Basically, if you use colour icons on HTC Home the screen sometimes gets temporarily garbled as it's re-drawing the Today screen. It took much playing around with different HTC Home themes before I tracked it down but it's definitely related to the colur icons. I'm assuming re-installing the HHC app will allow me to restore the original icons?

I have not come across that problem to be honest, I take it you were storing the icons in the HTC home plugin folder? If you uninstall the apps remember to clear every trace from your device and storage card you should then be ok.

I installed this ROM yesterday evening. Thought I'd give an updated schaps ROM a chance saying as I didnt have much luck with the last one. So I ditched Black X and stuck this one on. Played about with it last night and as someone said, the button assignment page is an a*se to figure out, but I just messed about with it til I got my camera button finally assigned, and now I come on here and there's a cab fix!

Anyway, first impressions, very nice, but then again I liked the look and layout of the last schaps ROM as well. They do look good, good page layout and nice buttons. I miss the RSS reader though. There was one on the last schaps ROM and this one doesn't have it. The comm manager is nice and I love the advanced configuration tool so it can be tweaked. While I'm on the subject of tweaking, can anyone give me settings to tweak for better speed?

All in all, it looks like a nice ROM....... can I get my RSS reader back?
