hermes problems with storage card

I have had for a long time a little problem with my Storage card slot or the storage card reader I would be playing my music or my videos and all of a sudden I would get stocked because the phone will reject the micro sd it give me a message that the device wasn't able to find any memory or something like that I have to wiggle it in order to have acces to my files again which is frustrating. it is a hardware problem does anyone repairs something like that or will i have to live with it? sometimes it happens four times a day. I ask you guys here because nobody is going to give me info at the att store and now I voided the warranty installing a new rom. second question. is there an option in the advanced configuration tool to get back the ability to tap and hold on a file and get that little menu to edit files because for some reason I LOST IT I can highlight let say five items tap and hold and the little menu will never display instead it will take me to the item im holding. that tcmp player desables something in your phone when you install it not sure if the problem is related or if it is a touchflow thing thanks in advance sorry if this is too long

Re: hermes problems with storage card

Hi Edwincito0_1,

Let's take the first issue with the Storage Card... Would the device be under warranty still if the ROM hadn't been changed? If so, re-flash the original ROM and try the Storage Card again as it could be one of many things....

1. Hardware fault on the Hermes
2. Storage Card fault
3. ROM issue

If you re-flash the original ROM and you have the same problem that eliminates number 3. If the Storage Card is fine when in a Card Reader on a PC then that eliminates number 2 just leaving you with a hardware fault on the Hermes itself. If this is the case and the original ROM is on the device and it's still under warranty, send it back.....

As to your second question, I am not too sure as to what you are asking as I don't have a Hermes to check....

Re: hermes problems with storage card

There is a known problem with the storage card being wobbly in it's holder, as Tony said it may be worth getting it looked at if it is under warranty. There is a fix you can try that is known to work, you just need to place a small piece of card between the card and the housing to keep it making contact. Not the best of fixes but it should help!

Re: hermes problems with storage card

thanks for your help but do you mean a little peace of cardboard between the card and the housing? for the second sugestion yes my phone would be under warranty if I didnt change the rom I know it is is a hardware fault because it happened even whe I was running WM5 the original. I didnt send it back because this was my third one I sent two of them back before, because one of them had a similar problem and the second one would not give me any signal. I apreciate your help but in the case that I had to keep the phone do you know about anyone who would do this kind of repairs because I have heard about people buying bricked phones for parts or something.
